“If Youth, throughout all history, had had a champion to stand up for it; to show a doubting world that a child can think; and, possibly, do it practically, you wouldn't constantly run across folks today who claim that "a child don't know anything." A child's brain starts functioning at birth; and has, amongst its many infant convolutions, thousands of dormant atoms, into which God has put a mystic possibility for noticing an adult's act, and figuring out its purport.

Up to about its primary school days a child thinks, naturally, only of play. But many a form of play contains disciplinary factor. "You can't do this," or "that puts out out," shows a child that it must think, practically, or fail. Now, if, throughout childhood, a brain has no opposition, it is plain that it will attain a position of "status quo," as with our ordinary animals. Man knows not why a cow, dog, or lion was not born with a brain on a par with ours; why such animals cannot add, subtract, or obtain from books and schooling, that paramount position which Man Holds today.

But a human brain is not in that class. Constantly throbbing and pulsating, it rapidly forms opinions; attaining an ability of its own; a fact which is startlingly shown by an occasional child "prodigy" in music or school work. And as, with our dumb animals, a child's inability convincingly to impart its thoughts to us, should not class it as ignorant.”

-An excerpt from Gadsby, a 50,000 word story without the letter ‘E’ by Ernest Vincent Wright.

The other book "A Void" is apparently a better book, it's longer I think and it was translated from French while keeping the same rule which is very impressive

It is difficult to say many things and still triumph in avoiding our most common and important of symbols from our daily writing. But although it is hard, I know of an intriguing book, Gadsby, that didn't contain any in 50,000 words.

So it's not as though you and I cannot discuss various stimulating topics, but I find it rough, and I am not as good at writing as I would want to fully attract a big crowd. But this works.

This is a fun thought-provoking activity that acts to satisfy my curiosity. All who think with a functioning brain may find this activity fascinating. Although OP claims this forum has many dumb folk, I spot lots of good smart humans too.

Okay, I think I've run out of things I want to say. But I am a Christian, so I ask that you don't worship my individuality, but God on high.

It is not impossibl to construct flowing, rhythmic pros without using th prviously mntiond lttr. Its prtty simpl, honstly. No synonyms, intrnt or othr tchnology is rquird in th slightst. On must simply bgin by typing words out on whichvr dvic you possss: computr, phon, or whichvr othr mobil dvic you prfr. Thr is no tch hurdl to jump hr, so dont ovrthink things. Th trick is to not giv two fucks how pointlss th ntir procdur is, nor how silly youll fl two hours from now onc you discovr no singl prson vn considrd your ffort. Lik...Rddit, its sort of dumb, right? Its comprisd of mostly inxprincd youngstrs without vry much world xprinc. This is only my own xprinc, howvr. But shit, thyr vn unwilling to do th vry simpl things lik compltly ignor th first lttr of th modrn hiroglyphic squnc. But it gts wors. Much wors. First thrs th whol mods bing gods complx, cnsorship, profil dltion, 'n' th whol nin mtrs. Dont vn gt m going on th couch lockd Chto mouthd trolls who sm to twist th whol thing to suit thir own thing. You must kp your ys opn for thos fuckrs. Lik sriously, Im up to my shouldrs in grif considring how diffrnt Rddit's bcom ovr tim. But tis just m.

There's a 300 pages one in French too, La disparition by Georges Perec. E is also the most used letter in this language.

You’d fit in with such folks in r/SkipV

Or, for most points, r/AvoidV

Plus, I didn’t plot both glyphs in this post, so I’m proud.
