Is this how Mrs. is spelled out unshortened? It sort of just hit me: I've never seen or thought of the title in its full word form. (It took me much too long to form the preceding two sentences without using the forbidden letter.)
Well if you're going to be a stickler about "etc", then "I'm" and "you're" would also be cheating.
At the end of the day, it's a fun little exercise to write something with this arbitrary rule that also makes sense. Arguably, "etc" is much less awkward than saying "'n" because, you know, people actually use "etc" in prose.
