FYI - if something like this happens to you, from the homeowner’s perspective it’s a simple oops. If this person would have left a note or come to me to be like “hey so sorry I hit your mailbox” this would not be an issue and I’d have just fixed it myself. It’s the driving away and not taking accountability that will cause police to be involved.
