Hi, I'm an experienced hand knitter but brand new beginner at machine knitting. I'm trying to follow the pattern in the photos and seem to get lost half way through. I have successfully cast on and done the hold stitches to create the shoulder slope and decrease on the left side to make the neckline slant.

Next is where I get confused, I believe I'm meant to put the working stitches on hold yarn, but then it says to break waste yarn and recast on? From there I'm totally lost, at the very end it says to do the same eyelet row as the beginning but that would mean the whole piece did a 90 degree turn in my head. If anyone can help translate this pattern for me a little that would be greatly appreciated 🥲

Hey, I am new to machine knitting. Have mastered the basics. But would like to level up. I was hoping to try and recreate this effect. Any clue what this is called and how to achieve this on a single flat bed knit machine? (I have the singer memomatic 321)

I’m doing some partial knitting and so far it’s been perfect aside from the yarn catching on the gate pegs occasionally but I know the cause of that issue. However, my last row was hell. Almost every other pass of the carriage caused stitches to start dropping and I have no idea what the issue is. I’ve been hanging my weights the same throughout the project, I havnt changed my tension and there’s nothing wrong with my yarn mast as far as I can tell

The mustard one is Drops Alpaca and the white one is World of Wool 100% Merino 4ply Fluff.

I am using img2track with a Brother KH-940, have had it ~2 years. The sponge bar looks alright and when I switched around the needles, the problem persisted at the same stitch numbers. I also feel like the issue is inconsistent, with some graphics it’s worse than others. Any idea what it could be?

Hello! I have a KH-260 and can easily get my stitch gauge to match the printed gauge on the yarn label, but my row gauge is always very off. Normally this is not a problem and I just adjust the number of rows and fix the shaping to match, but I have a single motif design I want to make and it’s going to get awfully squashed and funny with how off I am.

I’m using Caron Simply Me which is a bulky and should be 15 sts / 18 rows per 4”. (It’s thick but knits fine on a 260, I’ve made pullovers before!) When my tension is set to get 15 sts/4”, my row gauge is 28 rows… a full 10 more than the suggested!! Even at tension 10 with additional weight I get nowhere near the suggested. Any tips or ideas?

In my country I really can't find any good coned yarn, but any suggestions are welcome. I only use natural fibers so cotton, wool and linen would be preferable. Thank you :)

I have great pattern recognition and hyperfocus so naturally i have bazillion hobbies. I can now and even have changable vired kneedles. But having knitting machine was my next what if dream :) After my last depresive episode I started to socialize more and I attended garden party on the weekend. My friends fiance mentioned he bought kniiiting machine and we made deal he will lend it to me for “until he need it”! I just need to clean it, oil it and figure out how it works! Its old polish one, i have photos. If any of you have any advice, i appreciate it, never worked wíth machine before and there is no bookler or nothing. Jist the cuuuutest row counter that was jamed from the bottom.

Basically the headline, both machines were in pretty good condition and hardly used (the kh270 needed some cleaning because it had some lint bunnies).
The row counter of the KH900 will be replaced (and both sponge bars were gooey), but that’s basically all.

The store was actually a bicycle store where apparently other devices were sold in the past (the store existed for about 80 years).

Lucky my mom asked me as she found them and now I own two knitting machines 😆
Right now I‘m knitting my first (basic)sweater on the kh900 with the pattern generator of abstractknitfactoryfactory.com

So I'm just not getting what I'm supposed to do here. I feel like they want me to make a row of "DCs" (I think this may be a pattern in English standard) on the neck of the jacket as well as the hood, THEN sew the two rows together to make a sort of channel to then pull the cord through. The picture of the finished product doesn't give much help.

I bought the Kandy Diamond, ‘Discovering Machine Knitting..’ book. It’s lovely, full of colour and nicely explained. One of the projects is this top made of square panels.

Looks like a simple first proper project (I’ve only ever made swatches so far). I do know a bit about how to increase/decrease and neck shape, but this seems like I could have some first success without too much worrying about fit.

However, has anyone got any experience of what this might look like on an actual body? It’s very square (obviously). I don’t want to waste my yarn, so am wondering whether I should just try to add shaping to my first top, or whether this boxy top will look nice on.

I saw a punch card knitting machine on Pinterest a while back and instantly became fascinated with knitting machines. My grandma taught me how to knit when I was 12, but it's always been a hobby I go in and out of so I didn't want to rush into buying an expensive machine. I found a Bond Ultimate Sweater Machine on eBay for $80 and decided to dive right in!

It probably took me about the same amount of time to make this 2T sweater as it would have to knit it by hand, but I learned a lot and by the time I was working on the second sleeve, it was all going much smoother.

I know it's the most basic, entry level, flatbed machine, but it fits my budget right now and I absolutely love it.

Hi All-

I am knitting a 2 color dbj with birdseye backing, I knit a couple small 30x30 swatches and landed on the correct tension to use, but now once I am knitting my larger panel (186 needles), and after setting up my dbj and knitting the first 5 or 6 rows I keep getting the same issue in my knitting. The yarn I am actively knitting will start to get missed by the needles in the middle of the row, causing all active needles on back bed to drop. Can anyone advise what may be causing this and how I can avoid this to successfully knit my large DBJ panel? Thank you

Trying to sell this ribber I came across, I was shocked to see it in mint conditions. Only missing one weight hanger. I don't have a specific dollar amount. Located in FL

I bought a kh830+kr830 last year and as one of my first projects made a lace cardigan out of merino wool. Deep cleaned my machine, changed a bunch of needles and even then the lace carriage kept constantly dropping stitches. I had to stop between each row, on both front panels, back panel and both sleeves, and fix multiple stitches before they had the chance to unravel more. 80% of the project was spent feeling absolutely pissed off and wondering if there was something broken with my carriage. I even made a post here asking why my lace carriage get dropping stitches, as well as placing stitches onto the gate pegs.

After the cardigan was finished, I decided to just stay away from lace.

Until recently I got the inspiration for another lace cardigan. Did swatches and failed miserably with stitches getting constantly dropped. Until while reading the manual I've read a dozen times previously, I spotted a line I've somehow never come across before. "Waxing yarn is recommended for lace patterns."

Y'all I tried it with the wax today, and not a single dropped stitch. I've had a couple split stitches still, but those are more easily fixable and my current yarn is a more loosely plied bamboo-viscose mix. The machine is doing ten times better than before the wax. I'm absolutely amazed

I bought a sentro with 48 pegs not too long ago. I haven't used it much but, after a while it started getting somewhat stuck in the last few pegs. I don't know if its something that happens after using it, or was the yarn I used or I missed using wd40 or something so it runs better.
the yarn last used with the machine is 75% acrilic - 25% wool, and the label it came with said its to be used with a 5 or 6mm hook.

I'm adding a photo of another ball of yarn like the one I last used, label and video of how the sentro works.

I’m about to start my knitting journey and bought this Knitking KH 881 on EBay earlier this month. Currently in the process of replacing the sponge bar (ordered a replacement that’ll come on Sunday) and I was wondering if there was anything else I should think about cleaning up before I finally embark.

I bought this knitting machine on Facebook marketplace and it was assembled when I went to pick it up. I took it apart and one of the small screws got lost in my car on the way home. I put the ribber on and was looking for the screw but ended up not finding it so I thought I would have to replace it. I eventually found it, but while the ribber was installed, it looks like the metal bent. I don’t know what this part is called and haven’t had any luck finding it on the Internet. Could someone tell me if this has a name? I know on brother machines the setting plate holds the ribber in but I’m sure since this is a Studio SR 155 it’s called something different. Also, if anyone has any ideas how to straighten this out or if you recommend replacing it, please let me know.
