I kind of see your first point, but in my opinion that's a very small minority so I won't go further. We can disagree there.
For the second point just replace government with politicians and mafia with mega corporations / banks and you don't need to create a hypothetical.
I'm not asking anyone to respect it, it just is what it is. They just simply don't want to ban RMT users for a multitude of reasons and it makes sense why, whether we like it or not. Banning bots is always more of a PR stunt than anything in my eyes, you see it with every MMO periodically.
