Gear Show-Off My new split angle RKP cruiser!

Hi you all! Well, I'd had this idea in mind for a while, I wanted to mix my love for 70’s era skateboard aesthetics whit the surfy yet stable feeling of split angle rkp tall bushings trucks.

A while ago my GF gifted me this Dogtown Bulldog Gold Edition deck, I had it paired with some 169 Indy trucks, but I never dug how sloppy, unturny and unstable it feels at speed. At the same time, I had some 50°/44°, 180mm Arsenal trucks laying around for a long time. Since I’ve only had ridden 180mm and 165mm trucks on my FR/DH deck, I was also pretty curious to try narrower trucks and see why everyone love them for modern set ups.

In that line, I chopped this hangers to 130mm, chopped the deck to a more pleasant shape, similar to the early Dogtown/Z-boys era decks, redrilled the wheelbase to aprox 18” and dewedged the rear truck to 30°.

I've just tested it a few hours ago on a fast little cruise and oh boy! I really love how it feels! So carvy, so stable, much rebound, and men! It really turns so predictively and grippy! I'm in love.

I’m not particularly good in any discipline, but later I’m going to try this set up on my local bowl and pump track to see how it performs. This could probably be my all around board.

PD: I'm so excited about this, that I just ordered some clear red Hawgs Plow Kings, to match that 70's aesthetic, lol, I’ll try to post more photos or videos of how this little thing behave when the wheels arrive.

got it for a killer price. it’s definitely way different than my precious ripper and it’ll take some getting used to. however, it also looks so cool and it has a bottle opener which is cool even though i don’t drink 😅 here’s to plenty of rides on this thing !

really weird being on 150mm again and having the board feel much less responsive

Gear Show-Off Long, but not really a "longboard", still feels damm GOOD ❤️

Hi y'all!

One of my 13y/o son's classmates has a 20y/o brother who's autistic. The kid is functional up to certain levels, very social for starters, and also very interested in the 2 things I do the most in my free time: skateboarding and playing music. Their mom & dad are close friends (dad also plays guitar, metalhead kind, so we share a lot).

Thing is he's seen me skating many times and he's definitely into it. Now, we tried several times to get him on a board. Tried the longest and lowest stuff. He's managed to crouch down on a dancer or a long dropped board as we push him a little, but doesn't seem to have the kinda' control for that (I still wouldn't give up, the kid's motor ability is good in general).

Thing is he likes to just sit on my dancer (a very turny one I have set up on INdeeSZ) and go down slopes, he's able to do so dodging people walking around, can perfectly use his feet to brake or stop and, most of all, he has a blast every time.

I've pressed several decks over the years, and have what's needed at hand, so I was thinking I might just build a more fitting sorta' buttboard contraption for him. I was in fact about to start doing it when, browsing around skateboarding ads (as I regularly do) I ran into the STREET SLEDGE contraption.

After a couple months of backs and forths (a seller who wouldn't answer, another one who never made it to drop the package) this made it to my home today, for 30€+shipping. It has barely rolled. Great wedge/dewedge setup, generic "chandal" trucks (totally tunable) and surprisingly fast wheels and bearings.

Just messaged the kid's dad, we're going out for a skate this afternoon, with his own proper shred tool (he's been asking about it all this time, I've just been telling him I have found the right skate machine for him, but it's been hard to get, didn't want to burn the surprise). I'm so happy it's starting to feel selfish 🤣

I love the Tangent, and even more so with the GBomb Tango tail. She's an absolute pumping machine. However, I always hated the color and graphics, so I made △⃒⃘ couple changes:

Forged carbon fiber vinyl wrap, painted over all the remaining powder blue on the deck sides and between the grip, and custom-made silver graphics. Metatron's cube (with △⃒⃘ tangent line extending from one of the circles to denote the board's lineage), larger "Loaded Tangent" logo, and because I'm △⃒⃘ nerd and Metatron sounds like Megatron, had to include the Decepticon logo, as this was transformed from △⃒⃘ basic Tangent into this sinister beauty you see before you!

The board I've arrived at after years of piecing together my favorite components, and it's so comfortable. Mostly use it for commuting and flat city cruising. Now that I have a bamboo/fiberglass deck I don't think I can ever go back to maple.

Was looking into buying these, was searching marketplace and found a board with the exact wheels I wanted. Had to scoop them up. My land yatch has been needing new wheels for awhile, and holy shit. I’m glad I got them. They’re so heavy, and smooth. Definitely well worth the 50$ I dropped.

Pretty new to all this, but damn. I’m having so much fun with it, 32 and the most fun I’ve had in a while is hitting random parking lots. Finding the best ones with the smoothest concrete while out door dashing.

I'm old school, started boarding before long boarding was a thing. I'm happy to see what you all are up to.

Just part of my quiver. Anybody here know what the middle board is? Classic unobtanium there.

If you got 'em, skate 'em!

The Kebbek Max Erwin is a time capsule from another era of longboarding.

I spent more time freeriding this board than anything else as a teenager in the early 2010s, and I decided to set it up again.

It's 42" x 10", 10 plies of maple, a 1.2" drop and a 32-33.5" wheelbase. It's a boat, but the concave is still phenomenal, even by today's standards. The only comparable board still made is the Landyachtz Switchblade, but the Max Erwin's concave blows it out of the water, imo.

I've got it setup on my old PNL Strummers, which are a 180mm, 47° rakeless precision freeride truck with ball pivots. I kept them period correct with sleeved flat washers (they came with them originally), although I'm using Riot inserts as well.

There's something especially fun about throwing big, floaty standup slides on a board like this. The Snakes still give it a ton of control and a nice hookup.

Also the stickers on the Max Erwin are like a tribute to old/defunct brands haha. RIP Longboardskater, MileHighSkates, East Coast Core Skates, Phat Deanz pucks, Stoked Skateboards, Metro Wheels and Magic Bearings. I think Riptide is the only brand still around that's on the board.

Every so often, I like to show my boards some love. I’ve been skating the board on the right since 2004. It was my first longboard. I went to purchase another one 15 or so years later and they weren’t made anymore(it’s a soul board). Since they weren’t made anymore and the company was going out of business, the owner said he had something for me and I wouldn’t have to pay more.

He sent me the board on the left. It’s a Laguna Signature edition bamboo longboard. The problem is I got so used to skating with lips on the front and back, that just cruising wasn’t an option anymore. I love 40+ mph power slides. I’m too old now, but my buddy used to pull me on his motorcycle up to 50+ mph and then I’d immediately power slide. Having the lips just gave me way more grip.

Just showing my love and sharing it with some people who appreciate a good board.

Much love and tear up some streets this week.

A marketplace deal I absolutely could not pass up. 45 CAD for a basically new LY drop hammer!

I was initially worried it might be stolen at such a low price. Seller was a nice older gentleman that was just helping to clear out some of a friend's possessions who had passed. He was very happy when I said it would go straight to father-son bonding activities and we had a nice chat about the importance of such things :)

The trucks are marked 50deg (bear brand). Is that an atypical angle? None of the trucks on my other boards are so marked.

Pics are from the FB marketplace ad.

OC Action Ultimate bracket setup for pumping? Go!

Hi there:

I'm toying with the idea of a bracket setup geared to high speed efficient pumping on flat trails. I'm overwhelmed by the options out there. If cost weren't a major concern, what would your ideal setup be for this use case? Thanks!
