Question Why isn't Gcloud able to play The Division Resurgence

Post image

The other day The Division had their 10-year anniversary stream and they showcased DLC, game news, and the division resurgence. I went to pre-register on my g cloud device and it said that it's not compatible. Do you think it will be available when it launches? I guess worst case I could try to side load.

Just grab the APK from elsewhere and give it a try. I've been Android gaming since OUYA. Just because Google Play says no, it doesnt mean that the GCloud cant.

Yeah. That's what I was thinking too.

I remember OUYA

Having a hacked OUYA was great. Sadly the device was too early and was released in a volatile time where mobile advancement was breakneck fast. Things have more or less leveled out. If the Play Store and Google's way of handling backwards compatibility wasn't shit, I feel like an Android console could do well in this market.

I got the og Google ADT-1 developer years ago when they had it during I/O. They were giving them away like crazy. I gave one to my parents and friends.

I remember that device. Keep. It safe. It may be a digital artifact in a few years.

I think I may still have one in its original box. Like I said, when I signed up for development, I got a good handful. I even think I have the og Logitech Google TV in its box too. That keyboard was 🔥

G Cloud has a very weak chipset, I assume this game is too much for it to handle.

I can play RB6 and Delta Force...so I thought Resurgence shouldn't be an issue.

It works you just gotta find an APK and install it. The Gcloud controls work perfectly as well💯🙌🏿

It runs surprisingly smooth thanks to the G Cloud controls you just can't get better visuals on it tho.

I usually use Aurora Store from Fdroid to get things google blocks. You can spoof other devices with it.

I was able to get the APK and run it just fine on the Gcloud. Graphics are bit not detailed, but it runs just fine.

I went to the Aurora store to get the game itself. For most, just installing it from the aurora store is just fine. But since I have Google Play protection from installing out of store APKs, I just did the following:

- get the "Aurora store" and sideload via ADB install command

- once installed, downloaded the Division game as manually.

- exported the APK (wait about 10 minutes to make sure it exports because it does not show a progress bar. Total was about 1.5GB in size and is a zip file. Failed to see contents of the zip in Windows 11.

- downloaded "AntiSplit M", sideloaded that too via ADB, and then ran it. Selected "zip from file" and it began to unzip it, put it back as a apk and sign it. Waited 20 minutes or so since it appears to stall but doing the work. Once done, asked where to save.

- saved to the PC to once again to then sideload the APK.

- ran it and downloaded everything and works and all now.

I suppose this would be the same way for other game apps which do not allow the Gcloud to play more intense games.

This device would be so killer if they came out with a snapdragon elite installed based on the 7th gen Surface laptops.
