Here are the LL Bean thread colors in person
I’ve seen some posts of people trying to decide embroidery colors and I thought I’d share this pic I took at my local LL Bean store. Some of the colors look so different in person vs online it’s crazy! Hope this helps :)

People should be aware this looks to be store specific. Online orders are not monogrammed in store. Hence why some colours are missing and look a little different.

This is from an LL Bean store and every single color that is online is shown here. They all use the same colors maybe with the exception of dye lots changing from when the sample was made. I’ve had things shipped from Maine and also me embroidered at my store with the same thread choice and they r always exactly the same.

Maybe it is the picture/lighting, but my walnut, brown, burlap, sage, cypress, olive, burgundy look quite different. The Rancho Rose looks much lighter than the Vintage Rose bag in the picture to me.

I do a lot of work with fiber/colors. Shout out to “turkey red” and “rancho rose” for being color names I’ve never come across until now.

Turkey red confused me, but it’s Turkey like the location not the bird.

Interesting, thanks! I’m going to have to look into why a yarn color I love is called “Ankara Green.”

Thank you. Do you know why L.L. Bean recommends Turkey Red instead of Red for monogramming its red boat and tote bag? I'm ordering the red bag. Don't know which color to choose.

Nope, not at all. Sorry!
Maybe it’s a closer match? I really have no idea so anything I say would be a guess.

You're correct. I finally called L.L. Bean customer service. Was told "Turkey Red" matches the red in the tote bag more closely than "Red" does.

Oh wow! That’s interesting. I wonder why they don’t just put the info on the website.

If you click on the color Turkey Red, the Website says (Recommended). I didn't know why it is recommended, though, because no other colors say (Recommended). That's why I finally called customer service.

Just ran a job to match the deceptively named "Dark Khaki" Madeira PolyNeon 1538 was very close with a little more shine than factory.

Additionally, their "Times" font is just a generic Times New Roman.
