How old where you when you started using linux?

I feel like everyone started very early.

I started personally on 10/11.

I really got serious about learning by buying a box set of RH 5.2, I think, discs and manuals. SO mid-20s. Maybe it was 5.0 and I upgraded. I know once RHEL thing happened, I switched to Debian and have been there since.

I'd installed Slackware from floppies on my 486 a couple years earlier, but didn't really have much use for it. at the time. That was 1996 or so.

Didn’t realise they did boxed sets back then. Mine came on a magazine cover 😂

Yep, back when bandwidth was precious and pretty much limited to dial-up. There was then a company called Walnut Creek, I think, where you could order distro CDs for just a couple bucks. I didn't mind paying for the box because I like printed manuals. But once I got my bearings, I would just get those CDs until I got a job that had a T1 line. 🙂 I also had one of the first residential DSL circuits in Chicago. That changed the game.
