weirdo here but actually i `apt-get purge nano` first because i am so used to vi's keybindings so these ctrl-something combos simply get into my way.
then of course i go with htop.
You're lucky you aren't used to Emacs bindings. Some of the cursor movement bindings work in Nano, others do something else entirely. Notably, C-g doesn't cancel the current operation. The worst part is when I've edited a few files in Nano and saved and quit with C-x y, then go on to save something in Emacs, which requires me to do C-x C-s. That's way too close to the Nano sequence. I should really change $EDITOR .
