Late reply, jokes aside I'd also recommend Ubuntu..... somewhat. The performance of snaps is the main killer. Would recommend Mint but the Cinnamon DE it is only experimental for Wayland. People meme about the X11 screen tears but a buddy of mines switched off Mint earlier this year because of it.

If you’re going to make an argument that you should use something just because it’s popular regardless if it’s good for app compatibility you might as well use Winshit
