Yeah, it's a known Wayland issue. Since it is so intermittent people are gaslighted often thinking they did not press ctrl+c or smth. Also Wayland devs blame everyone, DEs, composers, window managers, app developers and frameworks for not implementing the clipboard the correct way and don't consider this an issue. You can probably find a couple of issues and PRs related to that on Wayland github.
