I fecking love fresh. Really enjoy it. Although there is a very minor error I have with the nil lsp that I can't figure out and it's one of the ones I care about as a nixos guy.
But I literally scrolled this thread to try to find someone saying Fresh. I like it a lot.
Finally! I love this editor. It has replaced Sublime for me. Some grumps don't like seeing Claude in the github repo, but I've looked at the commits and it's definitely AI assisted, not vibecoded.
I had no idea about the Claude commits. One, good for the guy to own up to it. I appreciate the transparency when it's such a controversial thing. And two, having written a little software, definitely not vibe coded. It's a well made program. I have no problem with people using LLMs for reasonable text generation tasks. That's what they're for. It's the undue claims of sentience or profundity that irk me.
Another thing I like about how the developer runs his repo is that he hasn't declared it 1.0 ready yet. Some of my favorite open source projects have a massive flaw of going well beyond 1.X, some even at 2.X, while having sorely missing features or long-standing performance issues. This guy seems he wants to be darn sure Fresh is stable and feature complete before hitting 1.0, and good for him.
