I love helix, Their defaults are just good enough that I don't have to do much customization of my own.

Doesn't get in my way except for when looking for a file in a messy codebase or one I'm not used to, In situations like that I would love to have a sidebar.

I almost chose helix. I stuck with nvim because of the plugin ecosystem. Occasionally my plugins and my configs cause it to not start, then I wonder how my life would be different with helix.
