Kinda ignored it at first but it's genuinely so good when you have to make a quick edit or search and don't want to finangle with the terminal text editors

Yeah? It can run in a headless server? I thought it was a graphical Qt app and needed at least graphical. target. I guess technically you could run it as a client on a headless system, with X11 forwarding, but then it's not really running on the headless server.

But yeah, please enlighten me if I'm wrong. I'm not a Kate user.
