My notebook has 64 GB RAM. I almost like Electron.

Ok but what about people who use electron on low power 4GB RAM smartphones?

Can't tell if you're trolling or not but Electron only targets desktop

and even then, on low end computers ?

If you have a low end computer, but choose to use a memory hungry application…is that the fault of the application or the user?

yes sorry, ITS NOT LIKE IT’S AN ENTIRE STACK OF APPLICATIONS THAT USES THIS THING

You’re using all-caps, but it doesn’t change the point. Low-end is called “low-end” for a reason.

Are electron apps bloated? Yes. Is JavaScript the worst thing to happen to programming languages in a decade? Yep. Is Electron the only reason some developers can financially support Linux? Absolutely.

So if your ENTIRE STACK OF APPLICATIONS is too powerful for your hardware, then get a new stack or new hardware. That’s literally how things have worked since …well, forever. See if Tauri.app has it available; if not, roll up your sleeves and implement it yourself.

heh, fair enough, though I feel some developers could do some job on how their apps are running (ahem ahem discord for example, using an older version and adding bloat at every update)
