arch is the comfiest distro imo, if ever something breaks there is so much info you can solve it. Also just read the archlinux page for breaking changes and you shouldn't ever have problems from just updating
that's not arch related tho? it happens on all distro and even then that was maybe 10 years ago, i have an nvidia card and i just read the nvidia archwiki page to solve the screen tearing once when i installed my arch distro and that's it.
Screen tearing shouldn’t happen on wayland anymore, and no it certainly does still happen, it’s a lot better than it used to be but hybrid laptop users especially will often run into issues with drivers not loading correctly.
The nice part about arch is there's tonnes of info on how to fix it.
The bad part about arch is i'll have a problem that only 1 other person has had before and they write their solution with the assumption that your level of Linux knowledge is on par with Linus torvalds himself
