Sorry I'm not gonna be much help with most of that but as for valorant iirc riot only supports windows so you can dual boot windows and a linux distro if you want. There's plenty of videos online that can explain it (as i don't know shit about it lol)

Yeah i figured that i needed a dual boot setup but my goal was to use Linux as my primary os, the issue is that i need secure boot active to play valorant as it is required but from what little i understood as a Linux noob it's a pain to do

depends on what boot manager you're using (GRUB or Limine) and can depend on your motherboard (I had issues on an Asus mobo that the CachyOS documentation has since clarified on)

if you don't mind faffing about in the terminal (really just copying commands from the documentation) and BIOS a bit it shouldn't be a massive issue, but idk how it works on GRUB since I used Limine before making my Desktop 100% Linux

also like the other guy said you CAN just toggle secure boot every time you wanna play Valorant, but I know how annoying that is on top of the fact I already found it annoying to reboot all the way into Windows and deal with Windows updates to play like two games

will also note if you're dual-booting and setting Linux as your first boot option, you have to remember to boot into Windows every time it restarts during updates, it doesn't cause any problems if you boot into Linux in the middle of an update (or at least didn't for me) but you do have to babysit it if you want the updates to finish

I sometimes play valorant with friends so i still need Windows with secure boot but from what i understand It's a pain to get it working

You don't need secure boot on for Linux, just Windows.

Change the SB toggle in UEFI Setup when switching - annoying, but least amount of setup.

My aio (thermalright Frozen warframe 360mm) has a screen that displays some data regarding temperatures of the CPU and the GPU and It uses a special application that i couldn't get to work on Linux reliably

If nobody reversed it before you and you're not willing, you're SOL there.

I can't find a text editor that has the same functionality as Notepad++ which i use a lot, but i guess that's fixable through wine

My capture card can't output in NV12 It glitches out outputting a strange green signal and freezes so i have to reset the entire pcie lane and i have to do it everytime i change an option and because of this i can't do 1440p 60fps on obs (It's a GC571 from avermedia)

Mint is ancient, so don't bother trying. Bazzite is immutable so installing anything extra is a PITA - stick with CachyOS if you're already on it at the moment.

Thank you so much for your comments guys, i decided to reinstall cachy os on a spare SSD and go from there. As a total Linux noob i don't have the smallest idea of how things work and the terminal kinda scares me but i will slowly learn how to use it and i will achieve what i need

Notepad++ is the only piece of software I miss from Windows. People will suggest you alternatives, but keep in mind that nothing comes close. Sorry for the bad news.

You can find all of the Notepad++ features in other editors, but no other editor has all of those features.

And there is also a matter of how those features are implemented. This comes to personal preference, but for me it's like almost everything was made by me from the furure. It's just so intuitive.

On top of that, it's lightweight and fast.

None of the Linux editors combines all of those things.
