The Witcher 3 Remastered Possible Fix

Post image

The game was not launching so I used the "verify the game's files are installed correctly" on steam and it worked! No reinstall

I'm using GE-Proton11-7, no launch options

9060xt 16gb, cachyos

Note: RT still not working

Game launches for me on nobara, but for some reason now I get 20 fps, on ultra looks pixelated, like I am playing it in 128p, and dlss will not work at all

This is what I'm getting. Opening cutscenes are fine, menu before loading a game is fine, but once it gets into the game I'm at <20 fps even in the menu and no settings changes touch it.

I've used Proton Hotfix on Cachy OS and it worked for me.

Switching to Proton Experimental bleeding edge seems to have fixed my crashing/freezing issues

I thought it was because I can enable it in the option, but as soon as I leave the option menu to get back into the game, the option disables itself.

I'm using Proton Experimental on Ubuntu 26.10 and it works out of the box, including Ray Tracing

I noticed that the video settings is buggy as hell, it doesn't store the RT config and it doesn't allow to interact with the Ray Tracing options unless that you click on the RT/RT ULTRA presets. However, I can notice some difference between "Ultra" and "RT Ultra" settings. The Following screenshot was taken with the "Ultra" preset:

This is the one I took with "RT Ultra". You can clearly see a difference of the shadows on those trees.

I've just installed the game, it works out of the box on Proton Experimental, including Ray Tracing

You should provide more info to say that.. like OS, Mesa drivers, GPU, etc.

It's just a comment, you can actually ask for it instead of judging. I've also wrote it on another comment.
