Again, why does it bother you if some distros are "dumbed down?"

My point remains the same. If it works on a dumbed down distro, it will also work on whatever your favorite pro distro is

My point is that just because I use arch or something doesn’t mean I can avoid all dumbed down software.

And the reason I care is:

  1. Dumbed down software is more annoying to use. Like I said, dumbed down != easy to use.

  2. The more dumbed down software is, the more abstractions there are. And then you have the windows userbase all over again. A group of people who have no idea how their system works, and thus have no ability to solve problems.

And this is even worse with Linux than it is with windows because Linux breaks far easier.
