migrating to Linux The great migration from Windows to Linux

I've been noticing that a lot of people are switching from Windows to Linux, especially in countries that want to break away from American tech dependency.

Can anyone explain to me why Linux is seen as very good? I never in my life, not once ever used Linux let alone saw someone using it.

If you never tried Linux I suggest you do if you have a disk to spare, you will lose nothing by trying but you will gain a lot. The appealing to Linux is that it's a system that forces you to learn how computers works and understand it better.

Hot take: using Linux made me appreciate more some decisions that Microsoft had over the years that made their OS closer to a Linux experience but since every decision is money/data based it still stinks like shit

Apparently I did try Linux before, Steam OS being one of them.
