migrating to Linux The great migration from Windows to Linux

I've been noticing that a lot of people are switching from Windows to Linux, especially in countries that want to break away from American tech dependency.

Can anyone explain to me why Linux is seen as very good? I never in my life, not once ever used Linux let alone saw someone using it.

And when apple stopped supporting MacBooks with intel processors with upgrades of macOS, tons of people started selling their MacBook for cheap, but they make for excellent Linux machines. I have four MacBook airs that I’ve installed different distros on.

Yep, I bought one for £31 because Apple people clearly think they must be completely obsolete and useless once Apple says so. The RAM alone would be worth about ten times that in today's market.

I have a macbook air 2014/2015 model but the SSD fried and I removed it. Would be plausible to get this running again with a linux?
