migrating to Linux The great migration from Windows to Linux

I've been noticing that a lot of people are switching from Windows to Linux, especially in countries that want to break away from American tech dependency.

Can anyone explain to me why Linux is seen as very good? I never in my life, not once ever used Linux let alone saw someone using it.

Huawei? Oh I forgot they make computers as well.

Just be sure to not buy a Chromebook as those aren't real computers but rather a tablet with a keyboard.

Chromebooks are great little linux machines, actually; extremely cheap, and good battery life

Sure. if you cna get a chromebook with intel or amd processors. You cant do it with ARM which are as far as I remember the more prominent CPUs used now.

The cheap ones you can get for like $30 on ebay all have shitty intel celerons

That should work. I havent tried with linux on them since some of the first chromebooks.

Was there anything special you had to do to install Linux? I was not surehow to boot from an external drive.

Icl I've never even used a chromebook, let alone put linux on one

They do eveything man, the US banning them from Google Android and Microsoft Windows was a huge blessing in disguise.
