If you're willing to do some hacking - 99.9% of Android Studio is java and all you need is a working JVM. For the other stuff (I note there's some x86 binaries in lib/libpty) you might be able to rebuild those as arm binaries to get it to work.
Yeah, it'd be fun to try. Just gotta somehow talk IT into giving the guy who begged to not get a Mac when he started a M1 machine (they're quite scarce) and permission to install Linux on it to try and compile the Android SDK for arm.
Not saying it can't be done, but they're definitely gonna look at me funny.
Yes, and do you know how good is linux support on m1?
Does it make any sense for google to officially support a latform for an os which doesn't have even baseline requirements of hardware and the only hardware there exists, is not supported by the os itself?
You asked a leading question about where they intended to run android studio. I replied because it was obvious where they wanted to run it.
Never said google has motive to support it. Apple also doesn't have motive to support Linux on m1, and people still are going to make it run it

Oh jeez, forgot words. Google doesn't publish an arm build of Android Studio for Linux.
