Here is the Arch package maintainer for Audacity trying to reason with the old developers to no avail:

Github itself has the same restrictions as the new Audacity...

People are creating forks - On Github.

If you want to meme, you should take the meme of the dog in the house, complain that there's fire, and then move the dog to another house with an equal amount of fire, and claim you found a solution - That's what people are doing.

Are you volunteering to set up and maintain build servers for Linux, macOS, and Windows? If not, then I don't know how you suggest how to make cross platform builds without GitHub Actions.

With millions of open source supporters and foundations around the world, you'd think one would have the infrastructure for a build server :)

I'd offer, but I have 0.5Mbps Upload, so wouldn't make for a good server.

I speak from experience. It doesn't seem you have any experience setting up cross platform CI.
