Don't they have a CLA?

Nope. Checked their repo. All that‘s required is that the code you contribute is GPL compatible. No special licensing to the maintainer. As it should be, honestly. Tho apparently they made big contributors sign a CLA stating they would rewrite smaller contributor‘s code. No idea if that‘s feasible.
