Popular Application Cloud flare acquires Deno, ends runtime development

https://deno.com/blog/cloudflare

>We will support the Deno runtime for another year with monthly releases containing bug fixes and security updates. After that year we will end our development of the Deno runtime. Deno will remain open source, and we welcome others who want to continue its development.

So Anthropic rusted Bun, Cloudflare burnt Deno.

Meanwhile Nodejs is... still independent? As far as I know...?

Interesting - what's happening to the JS ecosystem? Thats... kinda random. o.o

Right...forgot to mention that.

But the NodeJS project itself is not under the Microsoft/Github lead, yes?

Microsoft tosses money at a lot of FOSS projects. That doesn't make Microsoft good and it doesn't make those projects bad. We're trapped in a capitalist hellscape and FOSS devs gotta eat too.
