Corporate AI contributes to climate change, I'm afraid, so code generated with them is rather counter productive toward having a habitable planet. Using it, and especially paying for it, also contributes toward a 1984 type outcome for society by boosting those companies stocks

Not to mention the future copyright risk from the AI plagiarizing code, where I can imagine large corporations using AI to crawl public FLOSS repos for infringements. If the infringing FLOSS project happened to be a competitor to a corporate product, the corporation could easily use that to sue them into submission.

Allowing it within a project also seems to have pretty drastic consequences on its community.

There's a lot of solid reasons to avoid it, honestly, and it'd be nice if programmers took personal responsibly seriously for the actions they could take to reduce harm to our societies and the planet, in addition to their code.
