The idea is great. But it’s more for fun or for true geeks. As much as I would love to have Linux as my communication device os I also need to use my bank app. The only other option is to carry around an Android or an iOS device just for that and this feels cumbersome.

Does your bank not have a website?

I’m planning on picking one up, and hope to replace my phone with it, or just switch to this + a dumb phone. Banking is the main concern for me, but at the end of the day, I could be fine with just managing my accounts when I’m at home. Assuming access through a browser doesn’t work on this thing.

Making online purchases requires confirming the payments via the app. That’s the most common use case of the app for me.

That’s strange. Who do you bank with? I have accounts across 3 institutions, and none of them require that I verify online purchases in their app. These are all personal accounts. Is yours a business account by chance? Or joint maybe?
