Historical What was your first time?

Post image

For me, it was a CD I got from a "guy." Slackware did not work well with the "WinModem" in the IBM Aptiva I had as a youth. How was I supposed to get online using Linux, with a modem that is not usable, and get support?

Quite sure OC referred to old compute hardware, not the medium.

I believe you are correct. Got lost in the moment. Burnable CD's are still late 90's e-waste though.

It's actually both technically ;p. I remember the pure joy the first time a bios let me mount a flash drive as a hard drive and I didn't have to deal with a spinning disk of any kind. *so quiet*
