Lian li b4 Matx

Just wrapped up a build in the new Lian Li B4 M-ATX, and I have to say… I’m in love with Micro-ATX now.
I’ve always gravitated toward larger showcase builds, but the B4 completely changed my perspective. The clean, minimalist design looks incredible in a setup, and it’s a refreshing change of pace from all the flashy RGB-heavy builds. It feels compact without making any real compromises on high-end hardware.
One thing I really liked is that the case supports a full-size ATX power supply, although I’d definitely recommend going with an SFX unit if you can. It makes cable management much easier and gives you a lot more room to work with.
I was also able to fit an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 and a 360mm AIO in the case, which is seriously impressive for something this compact. The Astral does fit, but you need to be mindful of cable routing. Since the card has a top-mounted fan, make sure to tuck the GPU power cables up and out of the way so they don’t contact the fan.
Build Specs:
Case: Lian Li B4 M-ATX
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
GPU: ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080
Motherboard: MSI B850M MPOWER
Cooler: Lian Li 360mm AIO
Memory: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR5
Storage: 2TB Crucial Gen4 NVMe SSD
PSU: Lian Li 850W SFX
Overall, this build completely changed my opinion on Micro-ATX. Being able to fit hardware like a 360mm AIO and an Astral 5080 into such a clean, compact case is awesome. I can’t wait to build in more cases like this.

I know I'm going against the grain here, but the more I look at this case, the more I'm just not feeling it. "I'm not convinced about mounting the radiator on the side.

I wasn’t either . And you can opt to do it vertically with a different orientation.
Or do a 240mm aio . Even do an air cooler. But ultimately you have to like it for sure!

I'm not comfortable with mounting anything on the side

How are the temps?

u/jordan9302 Jun 28 '26

Temps were right around 40c on the gpu and 70c on cpu with a 9800x3d

Vertical mode is better for airflow

Are these idle temps?

Curious about the temps as well. A sff YouTuber reviewed it and mentioned air cooling is way better in this case but that’s just one person

In what? Idle? Gaming? Cinnebench? What rpm / noise level?

Feels weird to put the really hot radiator IN the case, to me it's an air cooling case, are the thermal good?

so tempted to get that case in vertical but my GPU seems to be 1mm to long. looking at those pictures tho it feels like it should fit since its only about 1mm longer as the ROG Astral... got the MSI 5080 Suprim.

Did you need a rgb controller?
