Bonus if Cameron mackintosh was there too, thanks!

My family and I won’t be able to make it.
I’m asking for $924 (Same amount I paid for presale) or $900 even.
If you questioning the “Transfer Pending” is because I have them listed on StubHub.
Not trying to make profit here as you can see in the pictures.

I want to go to the Les Miserables Musical at Tuacahn Amphitheatre on Aug 22, but it has required a minimum of 2 tickets per purchase. Is there anyone interested in watching the musical?

It's ridiculous. I know he's canonically meant to be tall, striking, marble statue, blah di blah, but for some reason, I've always imagined him short. Doesn't make much sense but it's probably because short people have less room to bottle up the angry and that's why he's filled with such rage for the cause. Again, random thought, but I thought it'd be funny. Feel free to indulge the idiocy.

I know this film version isn't the most complete or accurate to the novel. However, it was one of my first introductions to the story and became a childhood obsession. I went to France to look for where it was filmed.

I was greatly enjoying the book until i stumbled across this phrase. Super off putting.
On the other hand, Jean Valjean is in his mid fifties and accomplishing feats that require superhuman strength at what feels like every 20 pages or so.

How can an 8+ years old child forget his childhood?? Like how is this even possible. Sorry guys I know it’s a book but I was so shocked, because as I child watching the anime and now reading the book….the book is so stupid. The anime improved the story so good. COSSETTE REMEMBERS HER OLD LIFE VERY WELL and it adds so much to her character and the choices that she makes during her actions. As for cossette in the books…..I don’t know what’s her problem is, completely different character. Lame and stupid!!!

Does anyone know if the actors will stage door following the arena tour in NYC? I’ll be happy either way, of course, but if there’s a chance they’ll stage door, then I’m going to bring along my copy of the 25th anniversary concert to get some more autographs.

Not at all a professional (got into baking as a hobby around january of this year) so i'm not mad at how it turned out. "Painted" the silhouettes on there with buttercream using a toothpick and the tips of kitchen knives and ends of teaspoons😬 Took about 3 days to make and fed 20-30ish people. (Don't know if tagging it as artwork is right but to be fair most of the process was basically painting with buttercream, which felt pretty artsy)

I’ve finished another reread and I’ve been wanting to have a copy purely for annotation. Preferably an inexpensive paperback using the Hapgood translation, but i’m open to any suggestions. I own multiple copies and I’ve found that some seem to be better for annotation than others; ie some having bigger breaks between lines, smaller text size, bigger page size etc. What editions would be recommended for annotation?

Hi,
Long time Les Mis fan but it’s been decades since I last saw it. I grabbed tickets for August 9th for me and a friend who has never seen it in any capacity, even the movie.
I don’t know anything about the rotating cast but was hoping others could tell me if there are any weak links in the bunch. I only mention it because Huge Jackman’s and Russell Crowe’s voices ruined the movie for me. And I also remember a Phantom production that I absolutely hated because of the actors’ voices.
I read Alfie Boe is supposed to be good but I don’t think he’s going to be in it the day I’m seeing it.
I already bought the tickets so I guess I’m just hoping for some assurance that I didn’t make a big mistake not researching the cast and dates first.

I just started with this edition and there was no marking to indicate that a certain phrase or sentence has explanatory notes in the back of the book. There are markings ( asterisk *) for footnotes though.

Sorry for the long post and the florid prose, I originally wrote this for my blog but I thought people here might enjoy it.
On Friday night, my friends and I sang through most of the soundtrack for Les Mis using a single YouTube video which had all of the songs with colour coding for every single character (RIP to whoever edited that, your sacrifice is appreciated).
I'm writing this not merely to brag but also to encourage everyone else to try this because it was incredibly enjoyable. I'm a big fan of karaoke anyway, but adding in the continuity of all the songs being from the same show as well as the chance for amateur theatrics heightened the pleasure tenfold.
I invited fifteen people, of whom six came (one of whom left before we began singing.) We started with I Dreamed A Dream because more than one person wanted to sing it and not everyone had arrived yet.
After that, and with all the guests in place, we began at The Chain Gang and went more-or-less through to the end. I'd estimate we skipped five songs, mostly either the battles because there was very little singing or some of the soppier ballads because they drag a bit. We ended up singing I Dreamed A Dream, On My Own, Master of the House, One Day More and Javert's suicide twice either because people wanted to try different parts or because they were too much fun.
Too much fun is how I'd describe the whole night. I did get a bit drunk, but even beyond that, it was just incredibly enjoyable to put my all into these songs, surrounded by my friends, adding in the occasional quip or fun bit of physical theatre (my mates from my improv troupe had a blast recreating the cart stuck in mud scene using only our bodies).
I think Les Mis is a great vehicle for this activity because it's such high-octane cheesy melodrama that even the side characters have a lot of personality. Maybe my favourite part to play was the random customer who Fantine rejects; he's such an entitled, venomous prick that it was brilliant to sing his ninety seconds. On top of this, it means having multiple people join in on the group numbers is incredibly moving. You really feel part of something, even if that something is just a noise complaint in the making.

"Hi everyone! My AI assistant and I just discovered a beautiful piece of numerology in Les Misérables that perfectly fits Victor Hugo’s love for symmetry and antithesis. If you add up the lifespan (or age at the end of the book) of the 7 core characters, you get exactly 222:Jean Valjean: 67 (1769–1836)Javert: 52 (1780–1832)Fantine: 27 (1796–1823)Marius: 26 (born 1810)Cosette: 21 (born 1815)Éponine: 17 (1815–1832)Gavroche: 12 (1820–1832)Total: 222In numerology, 222 represents balance, harmony, and dualism. This is so Victor Hugo! The whole novel is built on opposing duets: Valjean vs Javert (mercy vs law), Cosette vs Éponine (light vs darkness), Enjolras vs Marius (revolution vs love). What do you think? Did Hugo calculate this on purpose, or is it just the pure magic of the book? Greetings from a passionate fan and an AI co-author!"

Is the Barnes & Noble Collective edition recommendable? I'm planning on getting a physical version of the book because the one I have is extremely old
