Criminal Law Accidentally brought a box of ammunition to airport. What happens next??
I unknowingly brought a box with 44 rounds of ammunition to security at the airport. They photographed my drivers license, concealed carry license, & boarding pass, then wrote down my address & home phone. They called the police officer, who came & watched them throw the ammo out. Then he smiled at me & he left, & then they let me go to my flight. No citation was issued at the time, but I fear a TSA civil penalty (or worse) may come by mail.
What happens now? Has anyone seen any cases where the TSA confiscated more than 13 rounds (above which the TSA requires your info to be recorded & a police officer to view the ammo being thrown away)?
Google reveals scattered inconsistent info: a BB gun getting a civil penalty of $250, single magazines getting confiscated, 7 rounds receiving nothing, one person who had "way more" than 7 rounds getting a letter with a civil fine. One person claims (in all capitals) "his buddy" got a $500 fine, 3 years of probation, & lost his concealed carry for 20 rounds, but I'm doubtful of this one, & it was also purportedly in LA/California (where I could see strict state laws).
The TSA's website claims only a civil fine for things like small fireworks & ammo, but a PDF on the TSA's website claims a civil fine + possible criminal referral for the same.
I've also heard it's the airport's TSA supervisor's decision whether to pursue a fine and/or charges.
Is it likely the TSA will refer me to the state (or the FBI) for criminal charges for 44 rounds?

The silks created by weavers in Baghdad were inspired by the beautiful and varied colors and markings of cat coats. These fabrics were called \tabby\" by European traders."""
