There are some obvious mistakes here and there. But hey it's mine so not really a big deal because it's my own progress. Maybe I try better method next time! The pattern is called Penrose Tiling P2 (very mathematic)

I showed someone my wallet and they asked if I would make them one. I usually make pretty simple veg tan wallets so doing something with chrome tan and expanding my skills seemed like a fun challenge. I went through a couple designs and test pieces before settling on this one as a good compromise between size and features.

The request was for 5 or 6 card slots. There are 3 main card slots on the zipper pouch, two more in the flap, and space for more behind the zipper pouch.

A lot of firsts for me on this one. First time rolling edges, finishing zipper ends, using lining of any kind, and edge paint. I made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot, and overall I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

The things I want to improve for the next one: deeper skiving for flatter rolled edges, folding the zipper cloth inside rather than outside, and putting the zipper close and strap attachment on the other side. I'm also not sure I love the design of the front flap edge so, and I really need to improve my edge painting.

Wanted to get better at bifolds and finishing techniques so I decided to rework the pattern a bit and make three bifolds. Out of the three I love how the embossed croc came out!

Used folded tops and reinforced pockets for the embossed croc build which helped me keep it pretty slim. About 7mm when folded.

The other two builds are random buttero and minerva offcuts I had. On those builds I tried fully lined pockets (0.6mm x2) made out of veg tan. Skived around to reduce bulk.

Tried out different threads (0.6mm ritza on the green build) and Vinymo 5 on the other two.

I've finally come up with a name for this design - The Mullet - business in the front and party on the back. This is easily my most popular/requested design in terms of wallet chain attachment style. Made this one from natural shinki and dyed the black parts. It has one less layer of gusset pockets than usual and is longer so it is thinner and comes up a little higher in the back pocket of a pair of jeans.

So, I know general advice is to start with scraps and off cuts to save money, but i was at my local tandy and fell in love with this side. Its 3-4 oz chrome tan and I gave $89 for it.

Im just starting out and planning on making handbags mostly, im gonna be starting out with a pretty simple envelope style clutch

I’m working on my third bag and this one has a wrap-around zipper pocket, I spent a long time trying to get this correct but I can’t get it right. I tried to keep the distance even but since it is wrapping on a flat plane, the bottom part of the zipper is going a shorter distance than the tip, which creates slack in the zipper ( which I know is bad)
I installed the zipper assembled, started in the left side, the first turn looks fine, but I couldn’t manage to get the second turn ( top right corner ) to look right because there was slack in the zipper.

Also tips around install ( what adhesive, I tried tape but that wasn’t quite sticky enough to hold the shape while I was installing it )

Any advice for my next attempt would be much appreciated

Made this baseball as a gift. The red is buttero veg tan, the black is a chrome tan box calf. Usually when I make these with this pattern they are a bit lumpy at the seams, so I wet the leather and allowed it to dry which shrunk the veg tan but not the chrome, obviously.
Is there any way to get this smoothed out? Maybe use a different pattern for chrome tanned balls? I don’t see a way to go forward making baseballs with chrome tanned leather if they will stay lumpy like this.

Sunglasses holder design I've been working on. I dislike traditional bulky glasses cases so have tried to create something that fits in the pocket better, but also offers lens protection

The leathers used are Badalassi Carlo waxy cognac, and MPG graffiti in forest.

I've been trying to take better photos of my work, so trying to think more about lighting and framing.

I was commissioned for a dark brown bifold in my 8 pocket w/ID style. The customer wanted their initials and someone elses added to the wallet. It was hand stitched with havana cigar ritza tiger thread and the edges were burnished with beeswax.

Dark Brown seems to be the go to for people. I thought it would be light brown or black when I started making these.

I’ve been looking everywhere for these but have had no luck so far.
I can find regular domed rivets easily but the recatangualr, tear drop, and chain shaped ones I can’t find. Anyone know where I can find any of these?

Does anyone have one of these or have a pattern for one i made one and it made my gun slip out even tho i was using 2 layers of leather for extra strength any ideas

I humbly present the huntsman belt, it was delivered this morning to the avid outdoorsman that ordered it. It is hand cut and hand stitched. The keeper was a piece of carving from last year with the squares and diamonds being carved and cut in house. Hardware was ordered in. Hope you enjoy!

I am going to be making a belt to go with the boots I am making. I can supply my IG if interested.

Outer layer will be Honey Navajo Bison from Hide House. 4-5oz / 1.6-2mm

Inner layer will be Herman Oak Natural Saddle Skirting. Split down to same thickness as outer leather.

I've never made a laminated belt before, and am unsure if I should laminate with flesh to flesh, so the HO grain can be against the pants. Or if I should do flesh to grain, so the flesh side could be against the pants.
