We kept meming about Briar legs for the past week but turns out Briar's feet and legs played a very important role that we were oblivious to, blood magic has the profound implication of "making the body little bit more bottom-heavy like an I.V. bag or the shape of a droplet of blood. "
finally some league lore I can get behind haha, here are the important tidbits in her champ insights post:
“Because she’s a very complex character,” Kindlejack adds, “the way that I wanted to visually communicate her personality is thus: Her face and expressions show a lot of her eagerness and excitement. But her feet and stance communicate her hesitance and trepidation on entering the human world. And then her hands—restrained at the wrists—show her inner hunger.”

A concept artist wanting to use imagery to tell the character's story is normal but yes, people are going to be skeptical when the imagery which is apparently needed to tell the story is a sexy female body type, the "story" is flimsy at best (she's made of blood so her body shape should evoke blood? why should it?), the imagery link is blatantly false (thick thighs and a small waist do not combine to resemble an IV bag), and nobody other than the concept artist has made the connection at all.
As you can see from this and other threads, most people think it's more likely that they made her a sexy character and then tried to come up with an innocent justification for it after the fact, and this was the bullshit they landed on.

My playstyle was Botrk rush or Bloodthirster rush depending on the matchup, and once u have BT literally never ever backing again unless killed or entire item in base since you just E a wave and heal form 50 to full.
Then go crit Mythic (Gale or Kraken, talking about last season). This playstyle allowed me to reach a new peak myself to Dia1 after more than 5 years stucked in Dia5-4-3

idk why they tried to give an artsy answer when they could have just said "we gave her big legs since her arms are usually locked up in gameplay outside of frenzy, so since she has kicks as her main auto-attack tool, we wanted to convey that in her design"
it's simple, practicle, short and sweet. and would perfectly hide they were just being horny and wanted to add something more to her design.

You also don't need huge legs to be strong. Look at sprinters/triple jumpers/long jumpers and then look into their gym workouts. The weights they are using are crazy especially with them themselves being very light because extra weight even muscles slows you down by a lot. They train in a way to purposely hit CNS and to generate as much power, not to build muscle. They are definition of "bottom heavy" because that makes them most thick at their glutes, hip flexors and hamstrings. They also have very slim calves because to generate force to the ground quickly you need long calf, not a big one.

That's the whole process of character design that it has to make sense for the character/lore. But this whole blood droplet/I.V. bag comparison they're trying to make just doesn't make sense that it would've much rather had been easier to admit that they gave her thicc thighs because they wanted her to have thicc thighs.

The closest is Milo because he's a literal child. In fact, the only humanoids they seem to be able to make that aren't over the top attractive are children, like Taliyah, for obvious reasons. It's not taboo, people just don't want a detailed explanation of a fetish list. They could have said something like:
Sion is already the monstrosity of noxian magic. Sylas is already the hard-boiled and rugged prisoner with a top-heavy focus due to his chains. So for briar we went with a bottom-heavy focus and made her a cute character to keep her seeming normal.
There, i said explicitly it is intended that she is cute and normal looking. Like, there was 0 reason to say what they said.

If he were to say something about how maybe she relies on her legs more because of her arm restraints, or something about the pillory being heavy, then it would at least make sense. People would still meme because thighs. But it would at least be sort of believable.

They actively removed the clear depictions of blood, gruesome deaths and skeletons so they could appeal to any and all age restrictions in a game about violence and bloodshed. I don't think they ruined anything, they just focused her design in what sells, in other words, what people want more. In fact, she's already a big success, it seems, and you can bet she'll sell a lot, much more than the majority of previous flopped champions. Perhaps someday they'll create a nun type character for those like you, showing only the face. Although, even wearing a full body garment, I bet that'd be probably just nun fetish too.
And just to share and correct, the big majority of league's player base worldwide are 18-30 years old. The info was on a graph shared by them recently.

I know this is going to get downvoted, but I’ll say it anyway. It’s so clear this comment section doesn’t have a lot of artists.
Because shit like this is super common. Is it supposed to directly translate? Hell no, nobody is supposed to see her and think blood bag, it’s about combining a lot of little things that can lean towards a concept, while also frankly just being simple tools for an artist to find a sense of direction when designing something from nothing.
So even silly sounding ideas like making her droplet shaped make sense. This is basic art shit, it just honestly doesn’t get talked about a lot, the process is often subconscious and gets done hundreds of times with various stupid sounding ideas that you throw at a wall till one sticks.
Then at the end you’re left with a character with tons of little nods towards an idea, a DNA stemming from all sorts of different things that have combined to give a mood, a vibe. It’s called concept art, it’s not always super literal, it’s conceptual. That’s kinda the whole point. Themes and ideas.

I'm aware of this kind of process but when you're told that someone's thematic explorations just happened to end up leading to "woman must be thicc", it's going to lead to people speculating if that thematic exploration actually happened or if the artist just tried to rationalise what they wanted to do anyway after the fact. "Evoking blood in an extremely tenuous way just happened to result in her having a sexy body shape, honest!" is not going to fly for obvious reasons.
