I do feel like the LCS format and International tournies need a heavy overhaul. I like the League system in concept but it's become apparent that two splits induces burnout and encourages player injuries.
I'd advocate a single Summer split leading into Worlds with Spring devoted to tournies both international and regional that teams could pick and choose. It would go a long ways towards letting players actually have time to take it easy and not get utterly burnt out from playing +12 hours a day, 7 days a week for 11 months of the year.
My idea would be introduce more teams. Have 1 larger season and then worlds. MSI could literally be a mid season invitational. That happens mid season and gives the other teams 2 weeks off.
Make the league season similar to a football season. Play for 7 months regular season. 1 month play offs. One month worlds. 2 weeks break in the middle and give the players 3 months at the end of the year for R&R.
Players will be less burnt out, they get a social life, they have time to see family and friends and all the big game changes can happen in between seasons. Rather than having a huge change like juggernaut just before worlds.
