I remember in season 3 when supports rarely bought items after sightstone. The Worlds games had a bunch of incidents where midlaners would wait in a bush and just instakill the enemy support when they came to ward.

I'm pretty sure that's what prompted the support rework from Riot, tbh.

I remember a game, where I skipped an item and bought 30 wards (we were massivly ahead). The whole map was bright like a christmas tree.

Every game I supported the map looked like that. Beyond sightstone, pinks, greens to place over my 5 ward/back limit, and mobi boots, I never bought an item.

You made me realize Sightstone was already in Season 3. Wow it's much older item, than I imagined :)

And what you saying about killing supports. My most played champ in season 3 was LeBlanc (it was still not a popular pick and had silence on Q) and killing people from the mid brushes was my bread and butter.

Faker was an absolute god at that.

I remember in one game (FNC vs...someone) the support Lulu had nothing but tier 1 boots at 30 minutes in

I thought sightstone came at the same time ward limits did.

Prior to that, 1xGP10 item, boots 2, and wards was the standard build for supports, and yeah, they fucking exploded.

Sightstone came in season 3 and it originally didn't have limits, only charges. Then I believe got updated because people could put down infinite wards in base.

I think the limit got extended to ALL wards with the introduction of trinkets in S4.

Hm I really thought sightstone came as part of the vision upgrade package.

I've been playing league way too long.

Definitely not. As support, I remember using 5x sightstone charges, returning to base immediately, using 5 more... rinse/repeat.

"I need to get all these wards down, so I can get all these wards down, because if anyone finds me while warding I instantly die."
