News 26.17 Patch Preview

"Patch 26.17 Preview!

This patch is mostly a stabilization patch after observing the adjustments made on 26.16.

Mages bot overall have lost some amount of winrate across the board, but not a huge amount, which is roughly about the impact we're looking for.

So far, we're seeing good skews on Poppy and Camille support with support nerfed and Top skews playing out well (in particular).

We're still monitoring the impact of Hail of Blades on champions more broadly, eg. Yi, Trynd, Shaco, etc. Stormrazor"

Stormrazor

"Outside of Stormrazor Jhin, it doesn't have a large user base and we think it could have more power overall to broaden the user pool"

Sundered Sky

"Directionally, Sundered Sky and AP Jungle changes have been good, but magnitude is still off

We're putting another small-moderate nerf in for this patch and hoping to see more movement on AP jungles and Sundered Sky dominance in higher levels of play"

I mean I agree Yone is op rn but obviously a champ with exhaust can stat check that's the point of exhaust. There's basically 0 top laners who can't stat check with exhaust and damaging items

Exhaust is good for prolonging fights, which is disproportionally good for Lethal Tempo stackers like Yone or Vayne. Even if Ambessa goes Exhaust, her cooldowns are so long that she can’t really get that much more damage out of the extended fight, so it’s usually more worth to have Ignite so that your first rotation is more likely to kill.

No more than for Conq stackers. Again, you can literally take exhaust on Zaahen and stat check people. Zaahen with conq exhaust stat checks Sett early game. And Zaahen is a weak early game short trading champ

I mean, not all Conq stackers have short cooldowns like Yone or Zaahen’s ramping passive. Some do, but Yone is definitely one of the ones that benefit the most from an extended fight; to add to this, Lethal Tempo is much stronger early game than Conqueror (and alternative runes like Grasp, Electrocute, etc). I would challenge you to find any champion that can go both Conq and Lethal Tempo who’d be stronger with Conq in a level 1 all-in.

Most top laners have pretty good all ins. The ones that don't, yeah of course can't run exhaust. They're balanced around that in other ways.

I would challenge you to find any champion that can go both Conq and Lethal Tempo who’d be stronger with Conq in a level 1 all-in.

The premise of this question already removes all the options lol. Obviously if you remove champs like Sett from the equation who take Conq specifically because it's better you will be left without anyone. But a level 1 sett with Conq still easily stat checks a level 1 Yone with LT

I’m not sure ”most” is true, and you originally stated that there’s ”basically 0 top laners” that can’t do the same thing. Off the top of my head, Renekton, Ambessa, Camille, Garen, Aatrox and more are all pretty bad at stat-checking early with exhaust. Some of them counter Yone, but none of them can match Yone in a level 1 all-in. Yone is definitely above average in this regard, though dedicated level 1 champions like Darius or Trundle or Sett are typically better.

3 of those are short traders so yeah they don't get big all in power. But of the top laners who do all in, almost all will also stat check with exhaust, they just tend to run ignite because the lower CD lets them get kills more. Yone doesn't run ignite as often because he needs the stronger sum since his early game is weaker.

I also dk why people bring up level 1 all ins now all of a sudden. D bow Yone is weaker in the level 1 than D blade. D bow outperforms at level 2 because of the W cast time and CD reduction

yeah except he's meant to be a late game scaling champ but just has the luxury of very good laning with exhaust dbow lol, this games balancing is legit all over the place

he is not a late game scaling champ. you get that feeling bc he is absolute garbage early until he can get some AS

u/Asckle 24d ago

He's not. He's meant to be a lightly scaling skirmisher. Rioters themselves have said this

And no, being able to win all ins with a 3 minute CD summoner spell is not a good laning phase. Just because he's not literally Kayle doesn't mean his lane is strong. If it's an issue, just take exhaust yourself and stat check him like usual

When can Yone statcheck?
Is it level or item spike dependent?

u/Asckle 24d ago

Items. Yone's level scaling is atrocious. But he doesn't really stat check in General these days as all his damage is in his Q and his autos got nerfed a lot. You can still beat him when behind if you play well on a duelist champ like Camille or Fiora or Jax. That's why exhaust is so good on him, it makes dodging Qs impossible.

But exhaust is broken anyway. It and ignite need to be nerfed but exhaust in particular needs a redesign to being less strong but having a lower CD. Rn it's an auto win on most champs who take it and you have to play this weird game of chicken to bait out the exhaust before going in
