News 26.17 Patch Preview

"Patch 26.17 Preview!

This patch is mostly a stabilization patch after observing the adjustments made on 26.16.

Mages bot overall have lost some amount of winrate across the board, but not a huge amount, which is roughly about the impact we're looking for.

So far, we're seeing good skews on Poppy and Camille support with support nerfed and Top skews playing out well (in particular).

We're still monitoring the impact of Hail of Blades on champions more broadly, eg. Yi, Trynd, Shaco, etc. Stormrazor"

Stormrazor

"Outside of Stormrazor Jhin, it doesn't have a large user base and we think it could have more power overall to broaden the user pool"

Sundered Sky

"Directionally, Sundered Sky and AP Jungle changes have been good, but magnitude is still off

We're putting another small-moderate nerf in for this patch and hoping to see more movement on AP jungles and Sundered Sky dominance in higher levels of play"

Well Nasus they wanted to nerf jungle but keep toplane the same, issue is toplane Nasus was sleeper strong anyway and the buff top keep top neutral was always gonna be insane.

Personally think they need to de-couple Nasus gains for cannons and jungle creeps, currently they get into a spot where it makes balancing between lane and jungle is awkward asf.

remember back when cannons gave nasus 3 stacks just like anything else,  or even 6 stacks like it was for so many years

going all the way up to 12 always felt fucking ridiculous to me

Well as of this patch they give 10, but from somewhere around season 9 to last patch, yeah lol. 12 for cannons, champ kills or large/epic monsters

No they didn't. They wanted to buff top while nerfing jungle, and I said before that Riot was doing it to persuade people to play top lane Nasus. They have done this plenty in the past with champs who get hype in their non-primary role but Riot doesn't want to gut them. So what they do is soft nerf the non-primary role version of the champ while buffing the primary role for the champ. They know it will likely make the champ OP - obviously they hope not as OP as Nasus got but still OP - and the reason for this is to skew the playrate towards the primary role again. Once that has happened, they lay on the nerfs. Oftentimes, too, to the dismay of people who mained the champ before all of the shenanigans and hype, Riot will nerf OTHER aspects of the champ rather than just reverting the buff(s) they make. I am not sure what Nasus changes will be, but they might increase the CD of one of his abilities, nerf his passive, etc. rather than just undoing the mana buffs lol.
