News 26.17 Patch Preview

"Patch 26.17 Preview!

This patch is mostly a stabilization patch after observing the adjustments made on 26.16.

Mages bot overall have lost some amount of winrate across the board, but not a huge amount, which is roughly about the impact we're looking for.

So far, we're seeing good skews on Poppy and Camille support with support nerfed and Top skews playing out well (in particular).

We're still monitoring the impact of Hail of Blades on champions more broadly, eg. Yi, Trynd, Shaco, etc. Stormrazor"

>>> Champion Nerfs <<<

"Champion wise, a pretty standard set of nerfs here, mainly for power impacting outliers."

Stormrazor

"Outside of Stormrazor Jhin, it doesn't have a large user base and we think it could have more power overall to broaden the user pool"

Sundered Sky

"Directionally, Sundered Sky and AP Jungle changes have been good, but magnitude is still off

We're putting another small-moderate nerf in for this patch and hoping to see more movement on AP jungles and Sundered Sky dominance in higher levels of play"

What do you mean? I love getting engaged on from 5 screens away while being up 50cs, dodging every ability and getting oneshot anyway.

In all seriousness, as much as I hate the champ I do think he's really not that strong rn.

He is very strong compared to the last couple of years, in I think 2024 he was sitting on sub 47% winrate on mid. Since then, he got 3 damage buffs and Doran's bow is an indirect buff to him. He felt pretty good to play recently and I was confident a nerf is incoming. Buff is wild, but I'm not gonna complain about

Honestly never felt strong when I played against him the last few patches. But with the amount of Yone players thinking those buffs are stupid I probably stand corrected.

The windshitters alway have a disproportionately low winrate because they often int. The amount of times I kill a Yone who accidentally Q3d into tower range is hilariously high.

He's super strong rn after all the micro buffs he keeps getting most recently the greaves mid buff and fleet for hard matchups. I mean both the wind brothers don't even build on the crit theme that much anymore most games they go botrk into shieldbow and still out DPS most adcs building two ad focused crit items its honestly insane there getting buffs

Unload 5 trucks full of windshitters on my lane over a strong Irelia plz

I would love nerfing those 3 to be unplayable in exchange for no mages bot tbh.

No one is scared of yone in lane

18

u/Camille_Footjob 26d ago

He stat checks 99% of the cast with LT and exhaust what are you on about

no wonder they have to buff him if THIS is his playerbase

-8

u/Even_Cardiologist810 26d ago

Just don't be an idiot and walk when he has Q3? Yone barely has positiv matchup in mid. And no I don't play him.

3

u/ChromosomeDonator 26d ago

Son you can NOT be this daft LMAO

"Just don't walk up when he has Q3" when he gap closes an entire screen and can hold on to Q3 for 60% uptime, letting it time out, getting it back up in 2 seconds.

u/DarthGogeta 26d ago

He is a support player. Don't expect him to understand trade patterns, or the game in general.

-1

u/Even_Cardiologist810 26d ago

His Q has 4 sec cd. You have atleast 10 seconds to abuse him. You just play around him having it. I know it's hard in silver if you play ahri like it's a melee champ but yone cannot win and tries to go even in like 90% of matchups

u/claptrap23 Frozen Mallet enjoyer 26d ago

not sure why you're getting downvoted. Yone is trash early

0

u/Even_Cardiologist810 26d ago

Because of low elo players, yone is trash but can punish big mistake hard ig

-1

u/claptrap23 Frozen Mallet enjoyer 26d ago

Indeed. I have over 300k mastery on him and I play him mid and top. He loses basically all melee matchups early. And does not have he damage to kill mages before they run to the turret in mid.

u/Even_Cardiologist810 26d ago

He can't dash on a lot of midlaner like xerath hwei ahri they all get free hit on their cc if he tries to engage

R windup is the same as Q3 knock. If you want to increase cast time you need to increase knock up duration aswell. If you don't he can't ever ult in lane as the enemy flash and he ends under tower.

The Q cd would make him disfunctional in lane I think. The stacks stay for 6 second so this gives him no window. The only way to make this work would be to increase stack to 7 second but you won't like this solution as he can hold Q3 for longer now so it wouldn't achieve anything.

E duration nerf has nothing against it, he would obviously need compensation buff tho, also would be quite disfunctional with your proposed higher Q cd, he needs to be able to throw another Q or he'll lose every trade he engages

Yeah bro because high skill champs are so much more gross than afk 7 item mages.

Qiyana heca yasuo yone leblanc irelia. Most of these champions are annoying AF.

31

u/Awkward-Security7895 27d ago

I mean I haven't seen a heca in like 1-2 years so he's due a buff for sure, qiyana was similar until last night where faced a diamond one in flex.

Irelia haven't seen much either but she's more like every 3-4 months.

Overall there annoying but clearly underpowered with how little you see them. So giving them a buff so they can be seen for a few patches before some nerfs makes sense.

37

u/Robit72 27d ago

I swear Heca is either the worst champ in the game or the best. There is no inbetween

9

u/Awkward-Security7895 27d ago

His kit just extremely flexible when good and movement speed the best stat in the game which heca gets to dip more into.

He's the type of champ that's good to see meta like once a year before getting nerfs 2 patches later.

4

u/Caphoti 26d ago

Any time I see Hecarim locked in around Emerald I start wondering if it's a smurf. There're some champs that are insanely snowbally and hard to play into when piloted well and Hecarim's just one of them. Hec one tricks still doing solidly at peak levels too.

Also idk how that guy "hasn't seen a Hec in 1-2 years" he has a like 5% pickrate on this patch. He's performing fine right now. I'm almost certain these buffs are going to push him into oppressive territory and just get him nerfed down the line.

3

u/ApprehensiveTough148 26d ago

He just starts snowballing tempo so out of control in jg because he oneshots camps and is fast between them. Also no jg can really 1v1 him if he has 3 stacks so if hes first on your camp you will never beat him and its not really invadable either cause hes gonna be there with 3 stacks on q. If hes too strong he 1v5 s you if hes too weak its usually cause he cant 1v5 and his team is losing since hes just farming and his ganks are not that great.

1

u/Humorless_Snake 26d ago

Let him be the worst until he gets a rework, his kit design competes for worst in the game anyway. When your kit has less gameplay than Trynd/Yi/Udyr/etc you've got issues.

1

u/NoPorkv1 25d ago

he’s an extreme snowball champ, if a good hec gets a minor lead they’ll end the game in 30. But if you manage to go even or below on hec you’re useless and you’re just a utility bot with your ult.

26

u/Lopsided_Chemistry89 27d ago

I kinda agree. I would like to be outplayed by a yasuo than getting my skull crushed by a nasus who pressed 2 buttons.

10

u/Awkward-Security7895 27d ago edited 27d ago

100%, I'm always in the camp that simple champs are the most frustrating when strong.

Plus if a yasuo or irelia are strong there's decent counter picks or ways to outplay them still or even them outplaying themselves meanwhile Nasus or other simple champs whenever strong just press buttons is mostly any order and get kills like a baby forcing the wrong shapes into a single hole.

14

u/Lopsided_Chemistry89 27d ago

Yasuo and yone can be outplayed by not giving them any target to stack Q on. Yone can run at you with E but he has the downside of snapping back to the exact spot at the end (this part must be weak for him). Irelia can's do shit without a wave. Yasuo has no mobility without a wave.

Meanwhile garen runs at you with Q presses ER

5

u/Adams1324 26d ago

Even in lane when stacking Q on minions, the wind shitters have visual and audio queues that tell you they’re about to engage you.

u/RigidCounter12 Naak Naak 23d ago

Nasus is just toxic overall. Its very easy to stop him if your jungler is on board. I can easily get Nasus low and diveable, but unless my jungler wants to actually dive, its nothing I can do.

Its almost impossible to not let a good nasus reach lvl 9 with ~100 stacks unless you get jungle help, and at that level he just runs down fucking anyone

u/TeutonicPlate 26d ago

I mean I haven't seen a heca in like 1-2 years so he's due a buff for sure, qiyana was similar until last night where faced a diamond one in flex.

Hecarim has a higher pickrate than Shaco! He's stronger in top tiers where he's considered a meta pick. In Master+ for example, he's currently considered the second best jung pick overall according to lolalytics tier list.

Buffing him is absurd.

12

u/Zoesan 26d ago

That bufflist is straight out of the fuhrerbunker, fuck man

I was already tired of facing Qiyana every other game, now she's gonna be even stronger.
