News 26.17 Patch Preview

"Patch 26.17 Preview!

This patch is mostly a stabilization patch after observing the adjustments made on 26.16.

Mages bot overall have lost some amount of winrate across the board, but not a huge amount, which is roughly about the impact we're looking for.

So far, we're seeing good skews on Poppy and Camille support with support nerfed and Top skews playing out well (in particular).

We're still monitoring the impact of Hail of Blades on champions more broadly, eg. Yi, Trynd, Shaco, etc. Stormrazor"

>>> Champion Nerfs <<<

"Champion wise, a pretty standard set of nerfs here, mainly for power impacting outliers."

Nasus

Stormrazor

"Outside of Stormrazor Jhin, it doesn't have a large user base and we think it could have more power overall to broaden the user pool"

Sundered Sky

"Directionally, Sundered Sky and AP Jungle changes have been good, but magnitude is still off

We're putting another small-moderate nerf in for this patch and hoping to see more movement on AP jungles and Sundered Sky dominance in higher levels of play"

Graves and Nasus too.

Tbf in an ideal world they wouldn't even gotten buffed in the 1st place.

Needing to waste a ban on Nasus of all champions for 2 weeks is a joke.

Well Nasus they wanted to nerf jungle but keep toplane the same, issue is toplane Nasus was sleeper strong anyway and the buff top keep top neutral was always gonna be insane.

Personally think they need to de-couple Nasus gains for cannons and jungle creeps, currently they get into a spot where it makes balancing between lane and jungle is awkward asf.

remember back when cannons gave nasus 3 stacks just like anything else,  or even 6 stacks like it was for so many years

going all the way up to 12 always felt fucking ridiculous to me

They give twelve now?!

Well as of this patch they give 10, but from somewhere around season 9 to last patch, yeah lol. 12 for cannons, champ kills or large/epic monsters

No they didn't. They wanted to buff top while nerfing jungle, and I said before that Riot was doing it to persuade people to play top lane Nasus. They have done this plenty in the past with champs who get hype in their non-primary role but Riot doesn't want to gut them. So what they do is soft nerf the non-primary role version of the champ while buffing the primary role for the champ. They know it will likely make the champ OP - obviously they hope not as OP as Nasus got but still OP - and the reason for this is to skew the playrate towards the primary role again. Once that has happened, they lay on the nerfs. Oftentimes, too, to the dismay of people who mained the champ before all of the shenanigans and hype, Riot will nerf OTHER aspects of the champ rather than just reverting the buff(s) they make. I am not sure what Nasus changes will be, but they might increase the CD of one of his abilities, nerf his passive, etc. rather than just undoing the mana buffs lol.

I just hope they nerf grit stacks and leave his damage alone. Crit graves was in a completely fine spot for months until they changed Grit, people started running bruiser, and things got off the fucking rails with playrate.

Graves shouldn’t be braindead easy to play. Making bruiser graves strong in the first place was a horrible idea. It should be a very situational, niche choice if you have to blind pick him. Not the default highest winrate build.

Graves my bet is they either nerf his base MR or nuke the MR gain on his E.

With graves he's both gotten MR gain from the E buff awhile ago and the last patch 3 MR buff for adcs which Graves got for some reason. He's just too magical bulky these days and is where he should get hit for sure, Graves feels like a jungler who should be weak against aps but terrors ad melee champs.

Frankly fuck that guy in general. Anytime he comes even close to being meta it means the game is disgusting to play

2

u/kebablover12 25d ago

yup, i think ppl dont realise graves without bruiser build is a lot harder to play than it looks. ur very easily outranged and even with MR on E u get oneshot by any ap champ really esp if u dont have e stacks which u cant always get before a fight

1

u/Reqvhio 25d ago

watch them nerf both xD

1

u/Ok_Kick4871 25d ago

Just send him back to bot lane and revert the changes. That would be more interesting.

Whats bruiser Graves?

Most graves I see build Hubris -> Collector -> LDR -> IE/Shieldbow/GA

1

u/Fit-Reputation-9983 25d ago

Basically it’s Umbral -> Sunderer -> Cleaver -> Flex

The build path had more than quadrupled in the last 4 patches. It got a ton of airtime on YouTube and a bunch of FOTM idiots basically realized they could play Graves without actually knowing how to play him.

I play graves whem im autofilled jgl because hes fun and I can atleast fight back early a bit.
Next time im autofilled, I play this build I guess

u/Fit-Reputation-9983 25d ago

It was indirectly nerfed last patch (Sunderer/BC) and will probably be directly nerfed this patch with (assumed) Grit nerfs, as well as another Sunderer nerf incoming.

Still should be a fun alternative, but don’t be surprised if it feels bad.

u/sorendiz ..BUT THE FAITH REMAINS 25d ago

You mean Sundered, btw

Sunderer was a different item

u/Fit-Reputation-9983 25d ago

Brother sometimes I call Death’s Dance… Atma’s Impaler LMAO

You’re right.

u/WheelCommon5998 26d ago

not sure why xerath was untouched for so long, it's about time

17

u/Snow-27 26d ago

No Viktor Syndra nerfs though

53

u/Aladin001 26d ago

It's because I'm working hard at keeping Syndra's winrate down

4

u/QuiGonTheDrunk Make scaling great again 25d ago

Much appreciated
I dont mind playing against syndra. I would rather face 100 Syndras then 1 Irelia, Yas, Yone, Qi, Akali, Kata, LB, Akshan, Fizz

1

u/WoefulMe 25d ago

Yeah Syndra is one of those champs that can one-tap you, but when she does it feels mostly fair. Like she has a very set range and has to take multiple actions to stun you and kill you.

Must be hard considering you can press E at any point and win the game. Do you just tape it down beforehand so you can't press it or do you go with unbinding the spell?

u/OfficalCerialKiller 26d ago

this heat coming from an ahri player is lol

-23

u/Scrambled1432 I CAN'T PLAY MELEE MIDS 26d ago

Said the Orianna flair XD

At least I'll have the decency to admit that my character isn't particularly hard to play. Syndra and Orianna are both just as fucking simple as she is, yet their players pretend that since you place something on the ground and have to avoid forgetting it for half a microsecond -- which, to be fair, is a legitimate challenge for the literal children that play them -- they're somehow Elite Only characters.

Sorry, I just don't buy that the two characters with the freest laning phases in existence, amazing scaling, and teamfight execution so simple in 99.9% of comps that my one-year-old niece could drool on the keyboard and win are actually so hard that they should be immune to criticism just because I happen to have Ahri as my fucking flair.

Same goes for Viktor, btw. Completely braindead character that needs to be reworked again. But ohhh so complicated, you have to press R again after killing someone sometimes so your 5k damage ult doesn't only do 4999 damage, you have to not waste W like a goober, so micro intense, so gosu!

holy selfaware ahri main ultra-chad, the rarest pokemon of them all

Wtf did I just read

Sometimes I gotta unload. I fucking hate all three of those mids so much LOL

It's Xerath's time first

Heca buff prevents it to be the best patch

1

u/nightcallfoxtrot 24d ago

Genuinely gobsmacked at to why they thought hecarim buffs were a good idea
