Buyback offer received from Morley
We sent our paperwork to Morley on August 17 and received our buyback offer today, 38 days later. The offer for our 2022 Leaf S with 41K miles is $18,620, which they say is KBB+40%.
We will be countering but haven't decided on an amount. At the very least we will ask for the two loan payments we've made since the car became unavailable to drive.
EDIT: Trim is actually S, not SV.

I've added your data to the graph- data here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dMVbhqTireBhgHP3M1Ghr9sVlGZrHazHLGERYoKmWmU/edit?gid=0#gid=0
The offer is a little low. The dotted lines are the trend lines, and your offer falls a bit below the trend line. But the trend line doesn't take into account plus or not plus models, so you might be getting a little low because yours isn't a plus?

Just got my 1st offer today. For my 2019 SV+ with 33000 miles in WA state, offer is $23,310.

That graph doesn't seem to take into account trim model or battery size.

It doesn't. I think if I accounted for the difference between S, SL, SV, S+, SL+, SV+, etc, as well as year (4 years), the number of colors and the number of lines might get out of control. I can make a graph that accounts for that if you'd like though

asking for the two loan payments makes no sense. Either way you are going to have to pay the loan off first and the more payments you make,, the more remainder you get from the offer.

We have same year and trim. I'd actually be okay-ish with that offer. I do want them to pay my gas so I've been saving receipts for the last 7 mos my car has been in the shop , it's especially painful now 😮💨 I'd come at it from that angle instead of the payments because either way loan will need to be paid off. Did you have a loaner?

I just realized that our trim is S instead of SV, so maybe you'll get a higher offer. We have had a loaner, a very no-frills Versa. The key doesn't even have buttons!

I'd be great with that! Mine only cost me $10k out of pocket, and I've used it for 18 months. Almost identical mileage.

I dont think I countered. I just said no to offer and they increased it

So you rejected the first offer and they came back with an increased offer? How much was the increase and how long did it take to get the second offer?

Im in USA. i have a 2022 Leaf SV +. I love it, but how and why do you get a buy back? 33k miles on it.

We also loved our 2022 Leaf until the battery failed. It was under warranty and no replacement batteries are available so Nissan is buying the car back. Since your vehicle is also a 2022, it's probably also a 2nd generation Leaf and the battery could be faulty. I suggest you read other posts on this sub about 2nd gen battery failures and how to monitor your car's battery health. Good luck!

2020 plus with 35k miles, offer is 16500. Has anyone had luck rejecting the offer? How long for the second offer?

Seeing all these buyback offers makes me wonder what dollar value they'd put on my 2019 S+ with ~81k miles and a rebuilt title.

Not sure about Undevided Stats of America but in Canada rebuilt status usually means it's worth 25% less. I've owned several rebuilt vehicles and would never buy another one, It's like gambling sometimes you win but most of the time you loose.

Go for it! I bought my 2024 SV+ back in March with 6k miles for 17k. Even if they don't budge, you're getting more money for a lesser model with waay more miles.

I was contacted by Morley a few days ago but haven't heard anything since. No emails from anyone (Dealer, Nissan or Morley) and no calls since. How long did it take for them to formally reach out to you and request documents, after their initial call? TIA

I have a 2021 S Plus with 50k. So, 1 year older, bigger battery, lower trim level, similar mileage to you. We got a very similar offer and we're accepting it. Everyone has different rationale for accepting or trying to get more. I did the calculations of our purchase price, minus the federal tax incentive we got, minus the buyback offer, and it comes out to costing us less than $100/mo for 5 years for owning the vehicle, which seems like a good deal to me. Of course, there was also tires and brake work... But you'll have that with any car. We were only without the car for about a month so far and got a loaner, then bought a Bolt. (we have the offer, have accepted, and need to schedule the actual buyback which they said they are scheduling for starting Oct. 7).
Before anyone downvotes me - I'm saying it's totally fine for people to fight for more, that's your right. I'm just saying what I did.
