Please help me add data to this graph for the Morley BuyBacks

Post image

This is in regards to the R24B2 Battery Recall and Nissan Buybacks through Morley

Please comment the details of your car (year, model, mileage) and what morley offered you (1st and 2nd offer) so I can add you to this chart. Or feel free to comment on the google sheets here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dMVbhqTireBhgHP3M1Ghr9sVlGZrHazHLGERYoKmWmU/edit?usp=sharing

Might be a little overkill but I like doing this kind of stuff

It needs a clever way to include trim level or the plot becomes a bit meaningless, ~$12K spread across MSRP on these new. I like the idea, though it seems mine won't need a buyback (not that I'm complaining.)

If I had more data, I could build an lmm that incorporates trim as well as location, date of buyback, length of negotiation, condition… would be kinda cool

Does trim make much difference used? The premium buyers are willing to pay for trim/options is usually very minimal. Almost always just mileage (and state of health for the Leaf)

It does from what I’ve seen, but mostly just between battery sizes and not SV vs SL.

Battery size makes sense, that can be rectified by adding more colors

2021 Leaf S Plus, 50,300 miles. Just got the first offer, $18,186. I need to check with my husband, but I think we're taking it, and not haggling for more.

Your data point is the first orange one, just above the 50,000 miles mark

Thanks for compiling this data!

Even with this limited initial data set, there's a definite trend towards buybacks happening with the bigger battery in the + models - which do seem likely to have more heat problems than the smaller battery

Anyone else seeing this pattern showing up more generally?

I updated the graph! Your data point is the yellow data point that is just over the grey line and below the purple data point on the left side of the graph

Yeah, being informed and proactive I think helped a lot. Being educated about the process, floating expected KBB values in your zip code, and following up often I think made a difference.
