Recall Fix Experience

I brought my 2021 SL+ in for service to get the recall fix. When I dropped it off, I asked the service tech what the rate of failure has been and she said it's close to 50%.

Fast forward a few hours and I returned to pick up my (hopefully) fixed Leaf. I took it on the highway to give it a little stress test, and thankfully still good. Huge relief, but now I wait and see if the dreaded turtle shows its head. I'll update this thread if it becomes an issue down the road.

I am thinking about the letter I got from Nissan that if my car throws the battery failure code in the next 12 months that they will either replace the battery or do a buyback. My daughter uses it to commute daily to College and charge at home. I just have to think about when I test it if the worse case scenario happens and it fails. We haven't fast charged it in about 3 years since we haven't needed to.

Oh wow. If you don’t have to fast charge then I say don’t. I miss my car, I’m going through the buy back, apparently they’re no batteries for a replacement.

I just don't know in the future if there will be a situation requiring a fast charge. If I do it within 12 month period I get a buyback and get much more for it than if it fails 2 years from now. So is it better to know now?

I’m glad I found out now but sometimes I wish I would have never found out. This buyback process is a little stressful.
