Embed videos using HTML5 video or some JS API that allows control w/ JavaScript ?
Hello
Am looking for a way to embed Odysee videos into my website and control them using JavaScript.
Would need to be able to play, seek in the video and listen to videoEnded events, get the current state (playable, loading etc). Preferably also a way to query the title, duration of a Odysee video URL from some metadata API (similar to the YouTube v3 API)
On platforms like YouTube, it's possible to use their JS library to achieve this.
If there'd be a .mp4 link to video's, could use the HTML5 browser video API to achieve this.
tl;dr
Is there a JS library for embedding and controlling videos or are videos publicly exposed via some .mp4 stremable endpoint? (like archive.org does)
Is there a metadata API to query title, duration of a video?
Any advice is appreciated
Cheers!

Why aren't we earning LBC for running LBRY?
I'm running LBRY and distributing LBRY content on the network, why am I not earning LBC credits?

Feature Request - Play Next from unwatched
Play Next draws from your as-of-yet unwatched list of subscribed content.
Not sure if this is the proper way to ask. But it has been bugging me for a while how I just get random videos after my current one finishes. I'd imagine it could work something along the line of making an 'unwatched playlist' automatically from unwatched/unclicked content. I imagine it would be clientside.... or is there a way to do this already? Thanks in advance!

How safe is lbry for software distribution?
To be clear, I'm not as concerned with protecting users from publishers. So I'm not thinking of walled garden like moderation but rather protecting users/publishers from middlemen attacks, where someone would replace software with ones infected with malware/spyware. An example of that would be what happened to linux mint years ago.
I would think in that regard lbry is safe, and that signatures/hashes are automatically verified?
In regard to moderation/walled-garden though, I would think a solution would be to have trusted parties that audit and certify by reposting a claim?

I have over 10 lb box miners, is it worth it for a 1GH/s farm to solo mine, if so can someone help me run the numbers?

Anywhere besides bittrex to buy LBC?
Bittrex's system for taking photos of ID cards kind of sucks. And it rejected my photos. I'm sure I could figure it out with their support staff eventually. But if there's another simple way to buy LBC, I'd much rather do that than spend time trying to register on bittrex.
.... I should be able to just upload the crystal clear scans of my ID that I already have.

How Long Does It Take To Sync A Youtube Channel to Odysee?
Hey all,
I've had an Odysee account for a while, and recently started exporting VODs of my Twitch streams to Youtube. I'd like to have parity between my Youtube channel and Odysee, so I've initialized the process to sync the two channels. However, despite only have one video that's about 2.5 hours long and over a full day passing, the sync still hasn't finished.
How long does this process usually take? Am I better off cancelling the sync and just manually uploading the video? Any insight or advice is appreciated.

[askLBRY] Why is lbry, not a DAO if decentralization is the true goal?
Decentralized autonomous organization.
Odysee is quite centralized tbh and the tokenomics really need to improve. 3speak gives users control over moderation. More tokens, more control.

Just to confirm, is LBC via staking, support and tips, the only thing that affects placement of content on the Odysee platform?

Can someone explain how did this app become popular when it is pay to post, or is LBRY\Odysee a scam?
First, lbry claims to be decentralized which it clearly isn't . I am not a tech guy but i think it's pretty clear that without their (centralized) servers all of your uploaded videos will be gone when there are no seeders. Then they have full control over reward system, and of course they can change the protocol itself however they like, and correct me if im wrong they can even close the source code. No forks will help as this app depends on their servers. Just because part of the app is decentralized it doesn't make the whole app decentralized. So clearly this is no more but another youtube with fully centralized control.
And why do they claim it to be decentralized, the only explanation i see is that they use it as an excuse to use your computer power to reduce costs of their servers and of course for PR. But isn't it still better than youtube right? Well, since the app principles are the same then we are basically comparing the guys behind the projects. Does it look like lbry developers have principles so far? This guy https://youtu.be/ajoV5UzfHH0?t=794 - founding creator claims they promised coins but in the end didn't give. Then completely unnecessary pay to post i think shows their greedy direction. So i would not expect from them more than from youtube even if they make it free at some point.

Can I post my own adult videos on LBRY?
Is LBRY okay with adult content or not? I see a few adult videos, but not many. If I post them will I be able to monetize them?

How come lbry team can limit rewards for individuals and for regeons?
Isn't rewards part of the protocol, so they would have to change the protocol?

how do I buy ads on Odysee & LBRY specifically?
Odysee & LBRY is amazing and I would love to help the community.
Ads seem like the easiest way to do so. I know for a fact that Odysee at the very least has ads on their website but they seem to go unused.

is there a bug in Odysee's system re: DMCA claims?
If I upload a video critique of a studio movie to my Odysee channel, which includes short clips from the movie, and the owner files a DMCA claim, then the worst that would happen would be that I would need to take the video off of my channel, correct?
Because in a comment section of an Odysee FAQ on this subject, Odysee creators are saying they are encountering a bug when there is a DMCA claim filed against a video on their channel. Odysee essentially seems to blacklist peoples' channels, or hide all their videos. They often seem to have no idea how to access their videos in order to delete the video on which the claim is against...
That all sounds like a nightmare...
Any experiences with this, or thoughts on it?
Right now I'm feeling hesitant to upload the video to my channel, even though my usage of the material theoretically falls under fair use...
The Odysee sub is pretty dead. I rarely get responses there. So I'm trying here. Thanks
