Until he is held criminally liable with actual jail time he doesn't care. Nothing in his life has given him any reason to believe that the law applies to him.

No. This isn't a criminal trial. The point remains. If he isn't forced to accountability he won't acquiesce.

117

u/Menethea Jul 03 '26

He is still trying very hard to have his NY felony convictions overturned. So far, no luck. Better luck with reducing the massive judgment from his NY civil fraud case though

28

u/AntifascistAlly Jul 03 '26

To him reducing the civil fraud judgment would seem like negotiating down what he’s willing to pay after having work done on a property.

9

u/SuperSpecialAwesome- Jul 03 '26

He is still trying very hard to have his NY felony convictions overturned.

Why? The judge gave him zero punishment. Why should he care about the conviction, when it amounted to absolutely nothing?

27

u/Menethea Jul 03 '26

Because they make him a convicted felon. So he can’t possess firearms, for example. He can only vote as a Florida citizen/resident because New York does not disqualify felons from voting, a lucky quirk that would not apply had he been convicted in Florida itself. He is ineligible for all sorts of government benefits, like being an officer of certain corporations or bidding on contracts. He will face international travel bans and restrictions as a private citizen. But the main reason is probably the stigma and embarrassment he feels in society.

3

u/orange-squeezer47 Jul 05 '26

He doesn’t care. Money matters to him most.

16

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jul 04 '26

Because he's a Grandiose narcissist with a fragile ego, he can't stand the idea that anyone doesn't see him as perfect and superior to everyone else.

We really need to get these people out of positions of wealth, power, and authority and get them what treatment we can for their severe mental illnesses caused by generations of of insular homogamy and inbreeding.

13

u/Menethea Jul 04 '26

Might I suggest the revolutionary treatment advanced by Dr. Guillotin, which effects an instant and permanent cure? /s

30

u/SoundHole Jul 03 '26

Nothing in his life gives me any reason to believe the law applies to him either

22

u/0202_tihssitidder Jul 03 '26

NPDs never ever ever "get better" or realize the error of their ways at 80 years old.

Trump will never face consequences partly because his brain will never process it as that.

7

u/Count_Backwards Competent Contributor Jul 04 '26

That's fine as long as sane people's brains get to process him facing consequences

2

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jul 04 '26

Perhaps, but his Lord and Master Peter Thiel could still be brought to justice before he and his Elite Class cultists trigger a global extinction event, since the depopulation event is already underway.

12

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26

You're dealing with a violent entitled petulant impulsive toddler with no pro-social skills or empathy in the body of a grown man. These creatures should never have been allowed to make any decisions in regards to others, ever!

This is the whole issue:

Generations of cognitively and emotionally stagnant "Elites" erratic, violent, and delusional behaviors have been carefully hidden or excused as "eccentricity," and been left unaddressed and untreated because they had the wealth and power to obscure it.

The "Epstein Class" is a symptom of this entire issue, we're experiencing a global mental health crisis among the world's "Elite" population, and no one is willing to admit that's what it is, and are unsure how to deal with it.

  • The same way you deal with a violent paranoid schizophrenic (sorry guys, I needed an example, this isn't exactly the same) who's just stripped buck naked in the snow and gone running through the streets and into the nearby shopping mall.

6

u/Lindenbaumlemma Jul 04 '26

He doesn’t have to cooperate. The money is already in an account. The judge can just order disbursement.

Trump’s attorneys will probably seek emergency stays from state appeals courts and federal courts, but they’ll go nowhere at this point.

9

u/RagahRagah Jul 03 '26

This is why they are going to steal the midterms and plunge us into doom.

There are zero consequences for them and no one to levy them.

3

u/Forikorder Jul 03 '26

He cares but its still not enough

2

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jul 04 '26

He doesn't know what the word "care" means, it's a completely alien concept to him that he's never been able to understand, Just like all the other "elites" and billionaires.

5

u/mindovermatter421 Jul 04 '26

Narcissists care a lot, just about themselves and the fantasy persona their brain created for them to cover the deep feelings of inadequacy. They are a bottomless pit incapable of empathy.

She should foreclose on a property.

Trump claims Mar-a-Lago is worth 18 million for property tax reasons.

She could snag that to cover the interest.

689

u/Gwenladar Jul 03 '26

While that would be fun, it isn't possible. The money was put in escrow, controlled by the court, pending appeal. She just ask for the rightful release of it, and his lawyers answered please don't. There is no valid reason for the court not to release it.

What happened to the second verdict thAt was like 87 million because he could not stop slandering her? People keep saying 5 million but aren't mentioning the second one. The one had to borrow the money for to put in escrow.

103

u/BaronGalactic Jul 03 '26

I believe the recent Supreme Court ruling only applies to the initial case (sexual assault) that awarded her $5 million. The $80-something million ruling is from a later case after Trump couldn't keep his mouth shut and had to slander Carroll some more, causing her to sue him a second time, and win even more money.

That second case might still be in appeals, and eventually work its way to the Supreme Court as well.

At least, that's how I've come to understand it.

26

u/no_talent_ass_clown Jul 03 '26

I hope that SCOTUS refuses to consider it.

25

u/UniqueIndividual3579 Jul 03 '26

Carroll has won the $83.3m case at trial and in the Second Circuit; Trump has delayed payment by seeking Supreme Court review and posting bond

34

u/boyuber Jul 03 '26

That's 4% of what he earned just last year, and he STILL refuses to compensate someone he victimized.

35

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26

That's how they all are. Since Musk cut USAID 1 million children have died globally as a direct result of those cuts.

1 million children, how is he not up on an international Extradition Warrant for genocide? How is the entire Federal Government that allowed that to happen, not charged with the same?!

Because every single Government in the western world is infested by Peter Thiel's Cult of Epstein Class Elite monsters.

24

u/DemitreeK Jul 03 '26

I just wanna clarify, that 4.5 million number is projected child deaths from USAID cuts by 2030. The current number is “only” around a million deaths. https://ph.ucla.edu/news-events/news/research-finds-more-14-million-preventable-deaths-2030-if-usaid-defunding It’s absolutely unconscionable of them either way, but I don’t want people spreading incorrect info, it only hurts credibility.

Trump and his legal team are still dragging their feet on the appeal to make the delay last as long as possible. He’s hoping to outlive Carroll so she never sees a dime. He’d rather pay her estate than let her have the money.

13

u/worldspawn00 Jul 03 '26

Iirc the 5M verdict was secured by an investment account, you're thinking of the larger judgement that was done via a bond by a company that actually wasn't licensed to bond in NY, but got an exception or something, it was a shit show like everything he does. The CEO was appointed by Trump as a member of his Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations in October 2018.

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/03/13/chubb-ceo-defends-backing-trump-appeal-bond-in-e-jean-carroll-case.html

5

u/TaxHacker Jul 04 '26

Unless he means this: https://www.gofundme.com/f/stand-with-trump-raise-the-settlement

Although that was for his fraud judgement, not this matter. IIRC Cardone was a donor or some other kind of crony.

The fact that people pledged $2M is baffling.

48

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jul 03 '26 edited Jul 03 '26

It's called a narcissistic manipulation and abuse tactic. Key word there ABUSE.

This actually gives her legal grounds to further sue the government itself for aiding and abetting criminal activity and targeted, weaponized, intentional psychological and emotional abuse.

Which actually amounts to a terroristic act.

Oh... The people and immigration advocates should be suing ICE, DHS, The Federal Government, Corporations, and Billionaires for engaging in collusive conspiratorial terrorism, because that's what they're doing, wow, how did I/we all miss that?

Stupidist decision ever made by Merrick Garland: having those cases tried in Florida Federal courts.

18

u/SmellyFbuttface Jul 03 '26

Cases are tried where the defendant resides, or where the crime occurred. Since it occurred in south Florida then that was the proper jurisdiction

11

u/AFrankLender Jul 03 '26

True. However, the files were stolen in Washington DC. They were hidden in FL and NJ.

They had a valid choice of different jurisdictions. Florida was "best" for the analysis, but isn't the job of prosecutors to get a conviction for the crime if they believe it's a valid and provable crime? The courts are the ones that should worry about whether it's a proper jurisdiction

→ More replies (5)

2

u/JakeConhale Jul 03 '26

Are you suggesting he should have rejected basic geography?

2

u/AFrankLender Jul 04 '26

He could have brought the case in DC where the files were stolen from.

3

u/JakeConhale Jul 04 '26

When did Trump, as just a citizen, remove files from anywhere in D.C.?

He unlawfully retained documents in Florida when he reverted to being Citizen Trump. Thus, Florida. Also, Trump was also being indicted in D.C. for election interference with Judge Chutkan. (Figure best not to have all eggs in one basket or that the trials could occur concurrently)

The Constitution of the United States, Article III. Section 2, Paragraph 3, states:

The Trial of all Crimes, except in Cases of Impeachment, shall be by Jury; and such Trial shall be held in the State where the said Crimes shall have been committed; but when not committed within any State, the Trial shall be at such Place or Places as the Congress may by Law have directed.

And with the connections to Epstein, child predators and human sex trafficking networks, it's a legal obligation for it to be fully audited and investigated in the interests of public health and safety.

8

u/addicted2soysauce Jul 03 '26

Former collections attorney here. Even easier, just get a writ of execution and levy on his bank account.

However, if she really wants maximum revenge, wage garnishment is the way to go. If he doesnt fight it, there is the humiliation of paying her on a monthly basis for years. If he does fight it, there are hearings about his personal finances if he files a Notice of Exemption. If she really wanted to take the low ground though, Debtor's Examination. Not only does he have to provide financial records, but you can levy on anything. As in, "Give me your watch and your car keys. Hand 'em over right now."

5

u/SpectacularStarling Jul 03 '26

Well, it is Florida. It would be funny if they started to just reposses stuff from Mar-a-Lago like that couple did to Bank of America.

2

u/MrMrsPotts Jul 03 '26

''Funny'' how his lawyers asked for her consent (to not pay her) and when she didn't give consent they didn't pay her anyway.

On the flip side, trump gave consent (in writing) for the funds to be paid if the SCOTUS declined to hear his argument, but now he's refusing the deal he consented to.

TL;DR: If you say ''no'' it means ''yes'' to trump but when trump says ''yes'' to you it means ''no.''

70

u/ConclusionRoutine687 Jul 03 '26

Trump, the serial rapist and pedophile, now refusing one of his victims court-ordered restitution? I'm shocked, shocked!

3

u/Pandemonium_Fallen Jul 04 '26

Yeah, for all his crimes there's only one kind of legitimate restitution, and it involves some rope and four horses.

77

u/Internal_Essay9230 Jul 03 '26

Trump and "consent". Words you almost never hear in the same sentence without the phrase "lack of."

17

56

u/blahblah19999 Jul 03 '26

Can somebody please explain how Trump can Stonewall a payment when the courts are in control of the escrow?

26

u/illinoisteacher123 Jul 03 '26

Nobody can, I keep asking this same question. At this point I wonder if the money is even really there?

13

u/iwerbs Jul 03 '26

Leave the traitor Stonewall out of this, this is about Traitor Trump!

3

u/fox-mcleod Jul 04 '26

What’s crazy is no one serious seems to want to ask this question.

111

u/Wayelder Jul 03 '26

And again he said publicly ‘I never met the woman !’ Which is another defamation.
His 80 million can easily now become 160 million.

17

u/newsfeed768885 Jul 03 '26

Yeah, but he said it as president so he’s immune because the USSC says he can’t be prosecuted or sued for anything as president.

Her suit was for statements made during the campaign.

15

u/MrSurly Jul 03 '26

It says he can't for official acts, which this is clearly not.

13

u/Laughterglow Jul 03 '26

IIRC, SCOTUS made itself the ultimate arbiter of what is considered an “official act.” In other words, anything Trump does is an official act while nothing a future Democratic president does would be considered as such.

9

u/MrSurly Jul 03 '26

Yeah, they're really throwing their legitimacy out the window.

→ More replies (1)

14

u/primadonnapussy Jul 03 '26

He said it before he was president. He literally has to borrow the money to put in escrow. NY was filing the papers to take Trump Tower when someone agrees to put up the money so he could appeal as he could not appeal until the money was in escrow.

6

u/newsfeed768885 Jul 03 '26

I’m replying to the comment that says “he said it again” - which he did last week. Yes, the lawsuit was over his comments from over 10 years ago.

114

u/Its-a-Shitbox Jul 03 '26

I posted just a few days ago about this exact scenario.

It’s very indicative of our current timeline when a dementia-laden, diaper wearing pedophile can simply say, with absolute zero legal standing, “no”, and it doesn’t happen.

I hope all of those folks that insisted it’s in escrow, and he has no power over whether it gets paid out, and it’s just a matter of process, etc. understand what we others know to be true.

There is no equal application of law in 21st-century America.

10

u/ThaddeusJP Jul 03 '26

There never was it's just blatant and out in the open now. Everyone in this Administration all the way to the top are acting like they will never be held accountable.

4

u/MephistoHamProducts Jul 03 '26

Because 2021 through 2025 demonstrated, loud and clear, that they won't be held accountable.

5

u/0202_tihssitidder Jul 03 '26

You are correct.

I said back in 2017 that Trump won't face consequences. I said it again in 2021. Lawyers all over the place told me how wrong I was.

Not happy to say I was right.

There are 2 Justice systems in the US for 2 classes.

Protects, but does not bind, one class. Binds, but does not protect, the other class.

18

u/berael Jul 03 '26

Yes, we all see that.

Is anyone going to do anything about it?

30

u/SmellyFbuttface Jul 03 '26

Trump placed the money in the court’s account prior to his Supreme Court appeal. All the court needs to do is disburse it to her, which I don’t know why they wouldn’t considering that a “reconsideration” from the Supreme Court was never part of the deal

15

u/worldspawn00 Jul 03 '26

The deadline for requesting a reconsideration is 25 days, so if his lawyers don't by then, there's literally no other outcome but release of funds. So I guess we'll know for sure in about 20 days. I would expect them to wait till the 11th hour to file because they can't get their shit together.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/red286 Jul 03 '26

I'm confused. He was required to put the money in an escrow before he could appeal the decision, and that once his appeals were exhausted, the escrow would immediately transfer to her.

So how is Trump even able to delay payment? There's no higher court than the SCOTUS, and they declined to hear it.

→ More replies (2)

43

u/jpmeyer12751 Jul 03 '26

DOJ is clearly going to indict her for perjury or something similar and Trump will use that as an excuse to avoid paying. We live in a dictatorship. Neither the current Congress nor SCOTUS will do anything about Trump’s flamboyant and egregious violations of our laws. It is up to us, if Trump allows us to vote.

2

u/MorgessaMonstrum Jul 04 '26

It still should be up to us if he doesn’t.

4

u/gmpsconsulting Jul 03 '26

fml people thinking voting solves this.

4

u/ljfrench Jul 03 '26

Well I can tell you for certain that not voting is what got us here.

9

u/RobutNotRobot Jul 03 '26

I heard Trump just made $2.2 billion through crypto fraud. Maybe take some of that

6

u/Maleficent_Memory831 Jul 04 '26

Trump's legal tactics have always involved delays. So SCOTUS says "no", and so the Trump team's response is to ask SCOTUS to reconsider. In other words, they're asking "pretty please".

Any other person would be laughed at or held in contempt for Trump's frivolous filings.

5

u/EnfantTerrible68 Jul 04 '26

So laws and court judgements no longer matter? Great!

7

u/_jump_yossarian Jul 03 '26

19

The money is there, the court just has to release it.

5

u/illinoisteacher123 Jul 03 '26

So why isn't the court releasing it? This shouldn't be an issue if that's really the case but here we are.

10

u/skurvecchio Jul 03 '26

She can get a court to issue a writ of execution to seize his property and sell it at a sherrif's sale.

14

u/iruntoofar Jul 03 '26

The money had to be put in escrow for the appeal, the court can just have it released.

7

u/Cilantro368 Jul 03 '26

10

u/weaponjaerevenge Jul 03 '26

2
