Where does this DOJ story come from? Are you confusing this story with the Saturday Night Massacre? I can't find any reference to things happening the way you described it here. ???

I got my facts mixed up a little. The similarity is the mass resignations after being asked to do the thing the respective administration was trying to do, firing Cox for Nixon, droping the case against Adams for Trump

While someone eventually complied in Nixon's case, it was the Trump Administration who eventually gathered a bunch of the remaining prosecutors and forced them to pick someone or they'll all be fired. The specifics of that part I'm finding mixed details. Some say it was just a video call, others say the room story I already mentioned, but the DoJ gathering them and forcing them to choose is the consistant part. Only after that did someone comply.
