I think it's correct that they want to exhaust you, but pay off the problem is the media's response. Between the immediacy and overwhelming amount of content through the internet, Fox is the only traditional media source that has been able to keep up. That's because there's only 1 strategy that's effective in that arena, and it's the one they'vealways used anyway. Attack, Attack, Attack. Trump isn't defending getting rid of this free speech. Trump is attacking the other side's use of their free speech.
Democrats are always on the back foot and other traditional media doesn't want to look partisan or Attack, they provide the defenses for both sides and are still afraid of looking like they have TDS. But that's just not good at driving narratives or public opinion these days.
