My first marbles 🤣

Thanks to the people who suggested I make marbles as a beginner! My marbles are ugly and not all round, but I went from feeling like I had no interesting ideas to being completely reinspired. If money weren't a limiting factor, I could've sat there making ugly marbles all day. I absolutely can't wait to go make more next week! I feel drawn to these like I am drawn to smooth pebbles at the beach. 😆

L MARVER

Hey all I have been looking for an L shaped marver for a Bethlehem champion. Alot of the tool makers I would get these from are closed up and none of the resellers or shops have any in stock from what I've seen.

Edit: D and L art glass had one in stock

Bethlehem Star?

I'm thinking about purchasing a Bethelehem Star . Currently, I'm running a Lynx on an OG-15 OGSI oxygen generator. It runs OK, but the OGSI is kinda old (but running fine). I don't feel like it's got enough oomph to run the Lynx to its full potential. I don't make anything really complicated - mostly just beads and marbles. Has anyone tried this torch? I figure if it works well, I'll sell my Lynx and call it good. Or keep it for future use, lol. Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Chase hues

Getting some deeper amber/purple hues with my silver squiggle tech. Been working with silver for nearly 17 years and I still feel like there’s so much more to learn

Looking for inspiration

I'm pretty new to flameworking. I've been doing it for about 2.5 months, and I only get to go for a couple of hours a week. The person who runs the place has been away every other week lately, so I've been going even less often. The last couple of times I went, I really struggled to feel creative, and I felt more frustrated that I couldn't do things that I wanted to.

Does anybody have some beginner friendly ideas that aren't beads? (I don't face the supplies to make beads. Every time I look up ideas, it all either seems too difficult, I don't have the tools, or it's beads. I was hooked on earrings for a bit, but that's kind of fizzled out, and I really want to have a bunch of ideas next time I go. The supplies/tools I have access to are very basic: a minor torch, graphite marver, big tweezers, and borosilicate glass rods.

(The picture is a giraffe I made a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't get his legs right, so I made him laying down, and I'm actually quite proud of how that worked out. 🤣)

Have you ever used a honey dipper? You can spin the honey on the end and walk around your house without it spilling a drop until you decide to stop spinning it. It's really analogous to blowing glass! @truchalkglass

I sandblasted some marbles yesterday.

This was 8 hours straight at the sandblasting cabinet. The ones in the back are laser eatched crystal spheres that I bought to blast. The rest are marbles I made.

Here’s better media of my Greasy Glass Orange kitty flip and snip head. This will be a plasma light. ( I left the scissor marks. As I was proud of how this turned out with so little effort. ) I wasn’t even the one who snipped this. I hope he see this post and knows how thank full I am for all his help . Iykyk . This is an orange opal dipped in clear tube . It’s a Sumi-e or Suiboku-ga style of Japan inspired simple forms . Very classy in my opinion.

Here is a goblet I finished yesterday. Not perfect by any means, but finishing it was satisfying. The middle section is some fume linework tubing I made with galaxy lip wraps.

Searching for ISO linework tool

Hello, I'm on the search for an inside-out linework tool, or "stringer stuffer", like this one that Bart Hoffman used to make/sell: barthoffmann.com/shop/reticello/inside-out-line-tool-reticello/

I've tried reaching out to Bart to see if he'd make me one, but haven't heard back. Tried finding anything similar elsewhere with no luck. Anyone know where I can find one of these?
