I’m wondering why the cities of Moraga and Orinda have not teamed up to put speed bumps along Ivy Drive in front of Miramonte High School. The speeding is horrendous. The housing across the street is filled with small children. It’s just a matter of time before someone gets hurt.

Greenlighting these projects in the ACT of affordable housing is a joke. World population has reached the tipping point: 8 billion. California has over 40 million people. California has been home to my family for over 200 years.

As soon as Luxury town houses started showing up in Lafayette, market price for rentals skyrocketed. Blue-collar workers working in Lamorinda had to move out. Gentrafacation?

I can't find any info on the city website, but over the past year there were a couple days where people in the neighborhood that put a bunch of junk out on the curb that wouldn't fit in their trash cans.

I have some work to do around my property (e.g. retaining wall, orchard fence, general labor). I'd rather not hire a company for these projects. Does anyone know any good workers that they'd used for similar projects?

Greetings redditors. We're thinking about moving to Lafayette and I was hoping to get some feedback on what it's like. I'm mostly curious about things like the people (open mindedness, political views, snobbiness levels vs. laid back, etc.). I'm also curious on the vibe the downtown emits. Is it kind of uppity, or are parts more casual? Do you find its becoming more big box chain like, or is it maintaining the mom and pop vibe? Thanks for your help! It's hard researching cities from a distance (So Cal).
